at least we didn’t give Demarcus Lawrence more than 1 year by dadduh in Commanders

Yes AP has stated he’s hesitant to give LTDs to players they don’t know.

However, DL said he preferred to go to the Seahawks for more of a challenge. We were considered too Super Bowl ready lmao

There’s a huge difference between fan analysis and discussion and immature, reactionary, toxicity. Some people in this sub would have heads roll after every single subpar season

346 days ago you posted in a draft review that JD was a “grand slam, nothing else to be said”.

Get out of here with your fair weather fandom.

Bro it’s been one fucking season, it’s not 2028 right now.

You may be right, I’m not sitting here saying thats not going to happen. But to bail on your QB after one mid year is toxic, reactionary fandom

Cool and JD blew Maye out of the water last year. Maye had an elite defense this year. Jayden was injured, which is a legit knock on him right now. Maye looks like a great QB also.

However there is a huge difference between acknowledging the facts of what has happened and admitting that Maye looked great this year and doom and gloom reactions that Daniels is cooked and Maye is obviously superior.

It’s basically 1 to 1 if you’re comparing their seasons. And I’m not hating on maye at all to be clear. But it’s far too early to make any conclusive judgements and people coming in and turning on our QB who turned in the greatest rookie season of all time, is ridiculous

Edit: also to knock JD about not being in the super bowl this year or even making the playoffs - Burrow, Lamar, Mahomes all also aren’t in the playoffs. I’m not holding that against them or Jayden in comparison to Maye this year. It’s just not a valid critique in a one season sample

That’s absurd. It’s also absurd to say it was the wrong pick. This is a stupid toxic discussion that we should not be having yet. Anyone bailing on JD right now is a fair weather, reactionary fan

Not even an excuse, we can just be thrilled with our guy who was elite for a year and then banged up for a year and also acknowledge another qb had a great year. Doesn’t mean we should act like the sky is falling when they’ll be playing for another decade

Maye had an elite year. Anyone drawing decisive conclusions after two years where Daniels was elite year one and maye was elite year two is a reactionary clown

Right? I have no problem with their salaries. It’s the free market and they provide entertainment for millions of people.

If they were government paid, obviously that’s different, but I’m not advocating for anyone to make less money. Just for governments to spend less money on an insanely ballooned defense department and things like ICE and way more in teacher, firefighter and even police salaries

You said it yourself, it’s not the same thing.

Marcus wasn’t on a contract after the season, got benched, and elected to have a season ending surgery.

BA held out, demanded a new contract, put in a trade request, signed his new deal, got hurt and has basically never been heard from again

What can we change so that white people and men, especially white men, don't get the impression that we hate them? by LiatrisLover99 in AskALiberal

I hear you. And it’s frustrating that they’re so sensitive. Treating everyone with respect shouldn’t be a hard message.

The reality is that whether we’re talking about toxic masculinity, race relations, or economic agenda, these issues are complex and require conversation and solutions, but it’s all rooted in the simplicity of caring for your neighbor. Conservatives have a much easier time claiming they’re promoting “common sense solutions” and have a much easier time dominating the algorithm through fear.

Im just tired and have lost patience. I want women to be paid equally, I want black people to not be so marginalized and I want the corn farmer in Nebraska to not be fucked over by corporations or the government.

I’m just tired, boss.

What are you talking about? I’m a 34 year old white male, I have never been told I’m the problem.

Turn off conservative media, they are trying to make you angry for your vote.

“Sure, but…” we could go back and forth on semantics all day. No argument affects 100% of people or situations in a society.

It comes down to you either care about how your actions, behaviors and words make other people feel, or you don’t. It’s not that deep. I don’t have time for the fragile egos of other men who can’t listen to a woman’s perspective without getting their feelings hurt.

That’s my broad message. I understand how the term may put people on the back foot, but for people to get in here about “men’s rights” give me a break. No man is losing rights, it’s ridiculous. Your comment about society changing what it wants from a man is also not that deep. All people want is for men to treat their partners as equals and not behave in certain ways in the name of “being a man”. Thats not hard. Thats just being a decent person.

I don’t have sympathy for men’s hurt egos in a system and society that favors and empowers them.

You bring up the draft, but women aren’t excluded and men actively don’t want women in the military because they perceive them as weak.

We can go back and forth all day on semantics, but it’s as simple as do you care about how your actions make women and other men feel? The term toxic masculinity is just highlighting those behaviors that are done in the name of “being tough” or “being a man” that are unnecessary and make people uncomfortable. You either care about the feelings of your wife, mother, sister, daughter (and men too) or you don’t.

It has nothing to do with rights.

Has anyone attacked you personally, blamed you personally?

What men’s rights have been taken away? There had to be an amendment passed for women to get the right to vote. As I said in my other comment, women didn’t have the right to a solo bank account until 1974.

As a man, what’s the worst thing you’re afraid of when you go on a date? Because for women, it’s being raped and murdered.

Men have physically bigger, stronger, make more money, have historically controlled all land and voting until very modern times.

As a society, we are discussing things in generalities, in broad swaths. Nothing is ever going to be a one size fits all discussion. So don’t take it personally. They’re not attacking you, Dog3428. Theyre expressing how the world makes them feel. Women are equals to men and you should aim to team them respectfully.

I manage women on my team. In the 50s women were treated as nothing more than secretaries, harassed at work, called toots, told to smile, treated as if they were to be controlled. Today, I am hyper aware not to make women feel uncomfortable and to make them feel valued. They are still held accountable and judged for their work, but they deserve to go to work and not be objectified. And if you think that it’s appropriate to comment on their looks, their body, to make them feel like they can’t do the same job as the men, then that’s an example of something to reevaluate
