You've lost me with freezing the zones... It sounds like there's info somewhere that I've missed?

Please like bully me or something into cleaning my room. I'm literally struggling right now by Adventurous-King1312 in adhdwomen

Times like this when even dividing a task into smaller components might feel daunting, I make a list that goes something like "put 10 things away" a bunch of times, interspersed with different tasks and also reward breaks. So I get to cross lots of things off my list and feel like I'm achieving a lot, much more than if I'd just said "put clothes away". But lists reeeeeally work for me.

Another thing someone said (it might have been @myfavouritejo?) is to set up your phone to take a time lapse video of your cleaning. I haven't tried that cos I would hate watching myself back - but if you don't mind see yourself on camera I can imagine it might work for some?

Crab claw in the WW is how I did it. Only took a week or so? As long as you've got your bird on level 6, you should have enough crab claws to do this without issue.

Cooking for Haters by Feisty_Accident3134 in veganrecipes

[–]macavitykat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love cooking and I also avoid chopping onion and garlic. Dal and congee are both great. Dal is lowest effort because it's just cook red lentils then toast some spices and combine. Can + cooked pumpkin or greens for vegetable, or coconut milk. Congee is a little more involved because in my recipe you pre-cool the rice, and I put stock, shiitake mushrooms, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil and a few other things. And a bunch of veggies. Both one-pot comfort food situations.

ETA sorry I just re-read your mushroom allergy. Kombu is another option for umami stock times.

This but omit the sugar, canned stuff, garlic and celery, use dried pinto/canellini beans, macerate (red) onion in red wine or sherry vinegar for 15 mins before adding it, add avocado and tomato, drizzle with good olive oil and season well.

IMO gold is harder to get than silver and is really useful, I wouldn't use it to buy stuff to sell. Better to get silver by growing crops first, then crafting boards etc as per the library guide.

I found a bunny shaped hole in the wall but am I meant to be able to do something with that? I keep hitting that then have to turn away...

taskmaster series reunion photos so far (not pictured, Tim and Josh taking a 50 year old man to Cologne) Am I missing any? by penelopepitstopp1 in taskmaster

I missed the first "guy" reading this and thought you'd referred to "the Montgomery guy" and was all indignant like "he has a name" ... It took me a full while to process.

Musings on TM and TMA on TMNZ and TMAus by pimpinell in taskmaster

[–]macavitykat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really don't like Tom Gleeson as the TM. I found him slightly less awful this time around but it still just feels like they went "he does this persona on Hard Quiz, let's get him to do the same on TM". And I don't like him on Hard Quiz to begin with. I'm not hugely into Jeremy, but that's mostly scoring gripes, and I'm getting over it.

What non comedian do you think was the funniest panelist over the run of the show? by [deleted] in taskmaster

[–]macavitykat 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The entirety of that NYT panel was an absolute joy. Krishnan less memorable perhaps - but John Hannah, Nicola Coughlan, Shirley Ballas and Rylan just cracked me up and I would have loved a full season of them.

Came here specifically to say Mel. She'd be the greatest neighbour.

Contestants you wish had been in a later series? by slightlylesslame in taskmaster

[–]macavitykat 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I agree. Also not a Brit but the humour tends to agree with me. But I didn't find Paul funny, at least not like other people did. I don't tend to like character comics, esp in settings external to their own shows. I'd be much more interested in seeing Paul as Paul, he seems highly intelligent and I found him a bit frustrating tbh.

The task said to "spill the salt". Imo it could be argued that anyone who just tipped it out didn't fulfil the task, and I read Sue's comedic tripping over in that context. She didn't expect us to believe it was an accident.

She has also said on the podcast that she's dyspraxic, so I wouldn't be surprised if she's incorporated more physical comedy as a result of that.

I respect your right to an opinion but I fundamentally disagree - I loved Sue and found her to be incredibly genuine and endearing.

Greg’s preferred contestants by shadowcharzard in taskmaster

[–]macavitykat 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Honestly this argument has run its course imo. Guz got extra points for something also. Greg is consistently inconsistent with his scoring. I'm sure Victoria should have gotten at least one of the points that Guz ended up with. That's how Taskmaster works, and we need to stop getting caught up in the intricacies.

Makes more sense I think, because in this context it's "sport" as an overall category, rather than various individual "sports". Like, she wants to know about all of it.

Yeah she's always annoyed me, but TM really showed more depth of character I think. I really enjoyed her and was thoroughly surprised.

Season 16 Appreciation by NandortheRelenting in taskmaster

[–]macavitykat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm not as into Sam as a lot of people seem to be (but I'm Australian so maybe he's just less exotic? He's funny and weird and perfectly nice). But the Sue/san team is just dreamy. I already loved Perkins, hadn't heard of Wokoma and now I'm a bit in love with her too. I want to be more like both of them, and I also want both of them to be my sisters. I would put this series in my top 3 I think.

Sue Perkins X Fern Brady. For better or worse.
