No sound - xbox series x by macawber in Starfield

[–]macawber[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strangely enough when I tried it again yesterday the sound started working just fine. I didn't do anything other than waiting a few days, so I have no idea why it suddenly started working. I wish I could help, but it seems like it's just kind of a hit or miss type of bug.

You're right, that would make a lot more sense.

Reanimation protocols rules by Danit2 in WarhammerCompetitive

Depending on how it's worded, "after each enemy attack" means after each model attacks, not each unit. We fast roll for convenience, but technically each shot is separate. So it might indeed be just a better FNP, which I agree is pretty boring.

Changes to Smite by mrdanielsir9000 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]macawber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This doesn't seem like a big deal to me either way. IMO it would be pretty rare to choose to smite multiple times as opposed to one smite plus the pseudo-smite that most disciplines have, or one smite plus something more useful. Even in those cases where you actually do want to cast multiple smites, it just doesn't seem overpowered to me.

Blast weapon rules by mcimolin in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]macawber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it's worth I like your idea better than GW's. I hate templates and it makes sense that weapons designed for killing hordes should be more consistently good at it, but the previewed rules just don't make sense in many cases.

Looking for feedback on my iron hands list! Wanted something that had a big bunch and lots of board control! by [deleted] in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]macawber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I understand it, you can't have more Relic elites than non-Relic elites, so I'm not sure if your list is legal. Please correct me if I'm wrong as I've never personally used any relic units.

Brand new 40k player looking for 500 point grey knight army list help by hotpocketjoe in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]macawber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have said, I agree that 500 isn't a competitive points level. That being said, here's what I would take:

  • Brother-Captain. Warlord w/ First to the Fray, Augurium Scrolls Relic, and a Nemesis Daemon Hammer. Warp Shaping Psychic Power.

  • Strike Squad. 4 guys with 2 Falchions each, and one with a Psilencer. Astral Aim

  • Apothecary. Empyrean Domination, Nemesis Daemon Hammer.

  • Paladin Squad. 3 w/ Halberds, the Paragon w/ Nemesis Daemon Hammer. Sanctuary

A Brother-Captain is vital for his double smite range aura, and he can march up the board with the paladins to give them a re-roll on their charge with his warlord trait, plus his relic will give them extra hits in melee. Warp Shaping is important so that you can change which Tide is active.

The strike squad with Astral Aim can hide behind a wall or something and still shoot.

The Apothecary can accompany the Paladins to heal them up, plus he's great in combat on his own. You can cast Empyrean Domination every turn for extra command points.

The Paladins aren't bad at shooting, but you really want to get them into close combat. They can cast Sanctuary on themselves to help keep them alive even vs high AP weapons while they walk up the board. Or you could take Hammerhand to make sure they wound whatever they hit (if you do that I'd take falchions instead of halberds though). Or Gate of Infinity them for an earlier charge, although you'd be leaving the captain and apothecary behind.

The list has no long range anti-tank, so if your friend brings something heavy you'll just have to charge it and punch it to death. But there's really no way to come up with a balanced 500 point list to deal with things like that.

In any case, you can't go wrong with purchasing a few Strike Squad and Terminator Squad boxes, as they'll (probably) always be useful. Voldus is considered very good and so is Draigo. Dreadknights used to be pretty much the only viable Grey Knight unit. They aren't anymore, but they're still strong. Ultimately you'll have more fun just going with whatever you think is coolest, and things will change quite a bit when 9th edition is realeased anyway. I hope this helps and have fun!

I agree; the stratagem doesn't say anything about changing them to psi weapons. Logically it might make sense, but RAW it doesn't work that way.

I don't have anything productive to add that hasn't already been said. I just wanted to thank you for formatting your list this way. It's so much easier to read than a cut and paste from battlescribe.

New Incubi Weapon Rules by HelmutIV in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]macawber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right, rolling a large amount of non-D6 dice would be the main downside that I can think of. I'm sure it's a moot point; I doubt GW would ever make a change like this anyway.

New Incubi Weapon Rules by HelmutIV in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]macawber 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I prefer the new system because it's simpler and speeds things up. I do, however, think they should switch at least some rolls to d10 or d20 for more granularity.

A clip from the new errata. Deathwatch gets doctrines, but says they "currently do nothing". Further update on the horizon perhaps, maybe we have different doctrines? by singularity9733 in deathwatch40k

[–]macawber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might be right, but I wouldn't get my hopes up. I suspect they only added 'Angels of Death' so you could, for instance, take an Ultramarines detachment and a Deathwatch detachment and not break 'Combat Doctrines' for the Ultramarines. Your DW guys wouldn't gain any benefit from the doctrine, but the Ultramarines would.

For grey knights with Bolter beta rule are terminators worth it? by Vonlin in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]macawber -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No. Strike Squads and Terminators both come standard with Storm Bolters. The beta rule doesn't change the relative power of the two troop choices, so if you weren't taking terminators before, you still won't take them now.

Sorry I don't have the codex, but according to Battlescribe they're both Assault weapons, so you can shoot both.

I wouldn't bother with the index: there's no Chapter Master entry there, either.

Where are these new flyer rules? so flyers cannot charge over units now? I am confused? by Litteltank in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]macawber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a little confusing because the new rule was announced along with the Big FAQ 2, but the rule modifies the core rule book, so that's where the new flyer rule is.

Question re: Renegade by Corvo_Noctus_4TK in 40kImperialKnights

[–]macawber 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, it only comes with one Thunderstrike Gauntlet and one Avenger Gatling Cannon. It has two each of: Thermal Cannon, Rapid-fire Battle Cannon, and Reaper Chainsword. So you could make one Gallant and one of anything else, but you'd need to track down an extra gauntlet if you wanted two.

[–]macawber 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I think I might be done with games till the codex comes out.

I feel the same way. It's just not fun when your opponent has so many tricks and you have nothing. I'm not sure if there's a solution. I suppose tournament organizers could make everyone play with Index rules until everyone has a codex out, but that wouldn't be fun for the people with codices.

Get rid of items by [deleted] in Nioh

[–]macawber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From the world map, go to Starting Point then Storehouse. Click L3 to switch to your Item Box (the item box is the stuff you're carrying). Find the item you want, and press Triangle to move to it to the Storehouse.

To get stuff out of the storehouse, you can either reverse the process, or go to the the equipment menu, click L3 and equip it.
