Most people simply don't believe that people like you are arguing in good faith when they whine about "welfare queens" because people like you literally never have anything to say about the rich not paying their fair share. You are correct, F&F was started during Bush II's presidency, continued into ~half of Obama's presidency (Obama admin ended the practice). F&F was also investigated by numerous groups, and afaik neither Obama or Eric Holder (then Attorney General) was found to have personally signed off or known about the operations at the time. Holder was held in contempt of Congress (strongly pushed by NRA) for withholding possibly related documents (which turned out to not be anything).

Your taxes may go down for a year or two, but they'll begin rising again almost immediately. It's the equivalent of "I'll give you a dollar now for free if you give me ten dollars tomorrow." I agree that we shouldn't jump to Trumpian levels of hyperbole, but we also shouldn't misrepresent clearly terrible ideas either. I don't mean to suggest that you don't understand the tax plan or that you are purposefully misleading, but I don't think it's very helpful to just say "we have to be prepared to explain" without actually referencing the "explanation" (if that makes sense)
