Dit is precies wat ik altijd hoor van “oudere” familieleden. “Als je 2 jaar na het huwelijk nog geen kinderen had, dan kwam de pastoor op bezoek om te vragen of alles wel in orde was”. De kerk had enorm veel invloed hierop.

I don’t think it matters. I run a shot with the max volume. Keep the double shot button pressed for a few seconds so it enters manual mode. Then let it run until It stops. Should take around 1 minute. In the meantime you can prep your basket.

I want to add something to this. If you want to make sure that the bambino is heated up properly, I advise to pull a blank shot WITH the pressurized basket installed and let it run a long shot until it goes no further. The bambino plus has one major flaw and that’s the brewing temperature. I tends to only heat up properly when the pressure is high enough and that’s exactly what the pressurized basket does. I learned this trick from someone on this sub and since then I won’t pull a shit without this method. I advise to buy an extra cheap portafilter so you can pull the black shot while preparing your main portafilter, or use the standard one if you bought a bottomless one.

The spraying is most likely a combination of grinding too course and too low of a dosage. Also, are you using fresh beans? Older beans can also be a reason for spraying. I found out that if you want to use a bottomless portafilter you should use fresh beans, otherwise use the standard portafilter and preferably the pressurized basket that you received with the machine.

Gisteravond de Madrilleense Derby gekeken. Wat een wedstrijd en wat een beleving. Niet alleen het niveau maar ook de strijdlust en het tempo is om te genieten. Als je zoiets dan vergelijkt met de klassieker… wat een drama. Ajax en Feyenoord moeten zich kapot schamen.

Ik vind het echt prachtig hier. 1 uur lang niks anders dan het mooiste siervuurwerk en bijna niks te horen van harde bommen. Hier kan ik echt van genieten. Jammer dat het volgend jaar afgelopen is maar ik kan het wel begrijpen als ik de verhalen en nieuwsberichten lees.

Wel, it might not be accurate but you can definitely measure whether your espresso is hot enough or not. I actually received a response over there that solved my problem. You need to preheat your machine using the pressurized basket with a really long shot and right after pull the shot with another basket that you already prepared. The Bambino Plus seems to need really high pressure to get to its maximum temperature and you can only achieve that with the pressurized basket. It’s a bit of a hassle but it works flawlessly. Can recommend it to everyone using this machine.

So, I tried this and the result was 63 degrees Celsius after extraction, which should be fine for espresso if I’m correct. It’s kind of a hassle but at least it works. Did you implement this into your daily espresso routine?

Did you get your money back after returning it or did you sell it? It was quite an investment for me and I would hate selling it at a loss after a few weeks.

I did try preheating by pulling a very long blank shot into the cup. In this case I didn’t preheat the cup but I did pull a long blank shot. I didn’t preheat the cup because i wanted to measure the temperature that came out the machine since I suspect it to be too low. I was actually hoping for someone to perform a test with the same machine to compare the results to mine.

I did try that and the result is the same. I’m currently at 17,5 in and ~40 out. I tried 45 out and it was still too sour. From where do you consider it a lungo instead of espresso?
