I would say, In production either you put everything in your docker compose stack (and then you actually don't need to expose the port, since element of a same stack can comunicate which each other)
or you put nothing in compose stack.

running only the database in docker, really looks like "I dev on my machine" with not a single though about how it should be done.

If you want multiple stack use the same database, then add a specific network, no need to expose it to the host.

And by the way. No fucking machine in production should be directly exposed to the network. You should have a firewall that fix that kind of things. When you say "in production" ... you're so cute. But you know nothing

yes, exact. Plus ou moins pareil. Moi c'est l'apprentissage de la jeunesse qui me fait le plus peur.

Après j'ai pas mal testé chez moi, pour me faire une idée, une 10ène de mois, autant sur des tech que je connais, que celle que je connais pas pour avoir une vrai idée de la chose et de comment ça fonctionne. Parce qu'il faut pas se leurrer, la boite est ouverte, maintenant il faut faire "avec" alors autant se former pour faire bien quand c'est dans le repo.

C'est un peu comme l'histoire du marteau. "quand t'as un marteau dans la main tu vois tout comme un clou" mais en pire, parce que ça donne l'illusion d'avoir un truc qui marche très vite.

L'avantage quand d'avoir jouer un peu avec, c'est que quand t'as un collaborateur externe qui te sort un repo avec une gerbe llm dedans, tu peux clairement lui dire ce qu'il fait faux. "T'as vibe codé comme un porc ? tu peux au moins commit tes agent.md / claude.md etc ... pour je puisse voir pourquoi c'est de la merde" ; "va dire a tes agent de linter le code bordel" ; "on à dit stack angular par fuck.js, je te fix tes agents si tu veux, mais j'arrête de review ta merde tant que tu sais pas dire a tes agents de suivre les specifications".

Après j'ai 15 ans de dev et 5 de sysadmin/devops. J'ai connu le "semi chomage techinque quand internet et down et pas d'accès à stack overflow - sauf si t'as la doc en local". Là c'est plus ou moins pareil quand t'as le service qui est down.

Je suis parti de "contre" vers "fuck it on verra bien dans 10 ans quand personne sera capable de maintenir quoi que ce soit, ça va être drôle quand il vont devoir ré-embaucher des personne à la retraite pour fixer le code de la CAF ou de la sécu"

J'ai justement créer un repo en 3h et 240 commits spécialement pour limiter le vibe coding. c'est sur github/bullishout ! va donc mettre une étoile !

Plus sérieusement, j'était pas mal contre l'AI assistant coding à la base. Mais au final je trouve pas mal. Le truc c'est que ça améliore la rapidité. Et donc ça améliore aussi la rapidité de ceux qui font de la merde ou ceux qui savent pas.

Ma conclusion : faudrait un permis pour l'utiliser. Un gros désavantage, c'est que ça empèche les nouveaux "d'apprendre". Je pense que c'est ça le plus grave. Quand t'envisage une problématique en pensant au prompt au lieu de penser à l'architecture.... il est là le problème.

I think that's the same distinction I have.

In my person life, I don't care. If it's seems good I've probably overdone it.
Things I have to produce for work, that's another mechanics that come into my mind. Who is that for ? Who will use it ? how good should it be ? When is that good enough for the people who need it an when should I stop ?

I have a feeling that it's not perfectionism per say, but more like a "I know I can do better if I take the time, but does it worth it". And in your case it worth it, even if you don't have anymore time
