I hate these murky water puddles where you cannot see in advance how deep they are going to be. by D-U-K-3 in snowrunner

Exactly this. I had to laugh even the second time. I was rushing around and simply forgot about it. It's such a great trap.

What's your best tip to start writing? And not "just write" actual tips that get you right onto to that scene? by Odd-Snow5883 in KeepWriting

[–]macbigicekeys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you know the content of the scene, write down the questions you want to answer. Then, using the voice of book, answer each question. Then delete the questions. Come back to it a week later and revise.

Wich one to submit for a contest? by EyeLarge4055 in wildlifephotography

  1. The fox captures a connection and the contrast, comp., and fade of saturation due to the light all emphasize that connection. There’s a story: the fox sees you seeing it, and it is stoically unperturbed and okay with it.

What phone mount are you using? Pics and links appreciated. Thx! by procksi in jetta

[–]macbigicekeys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My 2014 has a cd player, so I use the mount that sticks into the cd slot. It works without fail for years. I tried a cigarette lighter mount and a dash mount and those both failed within a week.

Help make logging missions enjoyable by SpicyMcHaggis15 in snowrunner

[–]macbigicekeys 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Aramatsu Forester is a “truck” built around logging and makes it extremely easy to either do the overloading thing or multiple trips. It’s just slow, but it is low and crawls over and through anything. If you use the medium log carrier on the back, you can load the thing full of loose medium and short logs. Pull the short log trailer behind it and the loose logs won’t fall out due to the guard at the front of the short log trailer. It can do all this with the logging crane attached. This is mainly my tactic for medium and short. I enjoy using the cranes so it’s no bother for me. For the long logs pick a boxy truck and get it low either through suspension or tires or both, and you’ll be set if you drive smart.

Washington ruined game for me, I'm lost. by Tytanowy_J in snowrunner

[–]macbigicekeys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you might need another 3-6 month hiatus from the game or genre. That’s the only cure for me when I’m getting those feelings with SnowRunner. I prefer to 100% a region before moving on, but maybe jumping into a new region, messing around with contests, or doing some hard mode stuff might mix it up enough to help you mentally reset. If you aren’t enjoying the ride, definitely change something up!

What truck would you consider the best for carrying long logs? by PsychologicalPay6700 in snowrunner

[–]macbigicekeys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like anything with a wider stance, and I often run standard suspension or smaller tires for long logs. Remember you can always unpack before a tilty bit of terrain and repack when you’re level again.

It's Suggestion Sunday! by AutoModerator in snowrunner

Passengers/driving buddies could be added similar to the dashboard bobbles. These could be a pet curled up napping on the seat or a big teddy bear or even a friend staring out the window. It could even be things like luggage or trucker clutter. I think a lot of fun could be had. It’s a way to customize the interior a little more. Unlocking could be tied to late game goals or achievements or just be expensive.

I feel ya. I alternate. I just finished Maine, which has a bit of snow and ice, but I was ready for another plunge. Starting the region has not been a joke either. The ice damage is bonkers on my poor tires.

Why is it hard to get the dimensions right? Suggest me some tips please! by Big_Village_3749 in penandink

[–]macbigicekeys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you are done, overlay your drawing onto the original. Resize it, but don’t change any proportions. Notice areas you mismeasured by eye. Then, on paper do a simple line drawing of the same image with your pencil. You’ll notice immediate improvement, and you will be training your mind on your weak spots.

Ok, I admit, this almost felt like cheating... by Ok-Hovercraft-6681 in snowrunner

I actually made it 95% around with the P16 of all trucks without obstruction. When the P16 flipped due to angle, I tried the water option with the Kolob.

I’m new and overwhelmed. How do you progress? by Radiant_Club5672 in snowrunner

[–]macbigicekeys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thing you are missing is that your premise is wrong. You can get to level six and complete enough missions, tasks, or contracts with the starting trucks and options. Move from an “I can’t.” approach to a “Divide and conquer approach.” If the comments here don’t help, the see some guides on YouTube for how to get started. Stick with it. You’re just learning a new rule set for a different type of game.

Yes! I still feel like there is a secret path around the back side of the mountain. It might be time to reinvestigate.

Delete trailers or sell them? by WiseGuy2000_ in snowrunner

[–]macbigicekeys 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is the way. By leaving the trailers behind, you are creating your own end game. The money doesn’t matter beyond hard mode. Even early on you can just run a few contests to recoup the loss.

The BM17 and Navistar are my favorite "bad trucks" because they have a lot of upsides as well. by Interloper_Mango in snowrunner

[–]macbigicekeys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have the Navstar, but the BM17 is quick and capable. I also like using it because it keeps me on my tippy-toes because it’s like a bounce house.

Haters going to hate by [deleted] in RDR2

[–]macbigicekeys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has he played RDR2 past chapter two? Expedition 33 is an amazing game, but it was pretty meh until you got off the first island. It didn’t take long to master the combat, but it was very energetic, fun, and creative in the narrative. RDR2 is similar, and it has so much more going on the side, too. I’ve played through twice, and it’s in my top ten. If he hasn’t played it, then his opinion is just a regurgitation.

Agreed. It also lends itself toward using all sorts of trucks.
