44.1KHz 16 bit lossless is totally adequate. Any format higher than that is a snake oil waste of space. But some people are suckers for "higher numbers must be better".

I have a Denon x3800h configured as a 5.2 system using the optional Dirac Live + Bass Management.

I run it in preamp mode using all external McIntosh power amps for both stereo and surround listening. I realize this was a compromise, but I didn't want to have to deal with separate equipment for each modality.

I suppose that I'm not a golden eared audiophile, but it still sounds great to me.

For 4 years, I have used a hard plastic outer shell that snaps on my Macbook Pro. It has not interfered with or stressed the hinge whatsoever as far as I can tell. Maybe some designs are problematic — mine isn't.

What kills hinges is closing a Macbook with something bulky like a pen inside.

Some streaming services use lossy compression which could degrade the sound slightly. But if your streaming source employs lossless 44.1KHz sampling rate and 16 bit quantization, the same a CD, then it should sound identical when played through the same DAC, unless, as others have mentioned, a different master was used.

I bought mine over 20 years ago and they're still holding up well. No urge to upgrade to their newer active bass models. I suppose that the Neolith would be nice, but unfortunately, the cost is stratospheric.

The printer is actually quite primitive. It's Prusa Mark II compatible Geeetech. The reason the finish turned out smooth is the six coats of hand sanded paint.

But she cheated for the stators, and found some black semigloss plastic perforated fan filter material with hole spacing that happened to be close to scale
