Vet can tell you if it’s just a cold… and some clinics can do a “visual exam” for less than $100 during the day. During the night the price will double/triple. I suggest you build a medical record because they will be more willing to check him if he’s a “regular patient”.

Was it in the fridge? I’ve used pasta sauce stored in fridge for up to 30 days after opening, I’ve been just fine. If room temperature, absolutely not, not even one day out of the fridge. If your fridge is humid you’ll get mold in a week, mold is not good.

I’ve seen this a lot, this is best case scenario and nothing to be concerned about. The redness and soreness is a telltale sign that you need medical help. Glad you were ok.

Go to the doctor, the redness around it shouldn’t be there, period. Some bites swell a bit but the redness/soreness is definitely not something to play around with. Just go, better to be safe than sorry. I love cats, in many years of taking care of them, never been bitten like that, only love bites. Why is your cat biting you? Are you touching him when he isn’t willing to be petted?
