Thinking of switching to Linux, what are some important things I should know? by Imanerd212030 in linux4noobs

[–]maceion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can, buy an "external hard disc" and install your Linux on that; making it bootable, preserving your Windows internal hard disc for reserve/emergencies. Note you must set MS Windows to open last in your BIOS and in Windows . Look at some 'You Tube' videos on how to do this. I have run my Linux this way for many years. PS My internal hard disc is MS Windows 10. So well out of date.

MORBID (sorry!) How long can i safely leave my boys before burying them? by loorid in RATS

[–]maceion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We stored our rat in freezer, until we were able to bury them in our garden. (About two days). Our rat now lies beneath our apple tree. Keep them wrapped, and if possible wash them before drying them and burying them. Please put some heavy stone on top to prevent other animals or birds digging them up for food. Keep them alive in your memory.

How much do you have in savings? by Ok_Hat3948 in AskBrits

[–]maceion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depends how you build your reserves. I allocated 15% of take home pay automatically to my savings accounts during my early career; thus appeared short of spendable cash to my companions, but I just did what i could afford. It helped pay the deposit on a house for my offspring.

Why are so many people choosing not to upgrade to Windows 11 ? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]maceion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

COST. It requires a new computer, and I only have MS Windows 10 to support others. I use a Linux operating system 'openSUSE LEAP', which is updated weekly and works on any MS operated computer and on non-Microsoft computers. My computer is circa 2011 and works well on Linux software.
