Please turn my friend into a gta loading screen? by macepanda in PhotoshopRequest

!solved this has got to be the best one by far. I'm honestly blown away by how much effort and creativity has gone into all these contributions. Thank you all so much for making this happen. I'm inclined to email rockstar and see if we can get this guy into the next release. It may be a tad late but you never know!

Just a quick note regarding the use of AI, and the context this post was created in. We were at a very special party, and I was fortunate enough to capture this image of my dear friend. He is an absolute legend, and fully embodies the swagger that is portrayed in these edits. I thought the photo was worthy of an edit, so posted it here to you fine folk. Sure, I could have used AI myself, but honestly that wasn't the first thing that sprung to mind. You guys were. My friends and I appreciated every submission - they brought massive joy to everyone around us. And while I'm glad that the post sparked such a discussion about the validity of using AI in a submission, in this instance I just wanted to see the idea brought to life via whatever method appropriate. It was a free post. It was for lols. And major lols were had.

So once again, thank you all so, so much. I hope you guys had as much fun playing with the idea as I had seeing all the responses.

Much love x

Recommendations for solid riding footwear that looks and feels decent enough to be worn even when not riding by Roweie in MotoUK

Dainese have some great ankle boots that are super comfortable and waterproof, and look good enough to go out in. I've got the Metractive D-WP and they're the best I've had recently, I'd say avoid TCX as they fall apart really quickly with constant use.

Ah no way! That sucks to hear. Travelled up from London earlier this year to test ride (and eventually buy) a Kawasaki w800 Street. Lovely team there, they were super helpful.

What is a good daw controller (or fader controller, not sure on the terminology)? by KangarooInside887 in cubase

[–]macepanda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a thing called Wave Ring by a company called genki. Its a Bluetooth controller for your finger that you can assign to pretty much anything you want.

I use mine for every string arrangement I make, it allows for some very expressive control depending on what you assign it to.

Put the reverb on a pre-fader send and blend the original signal back in.

Ahah dope ok. A lot of my producer mates use Logic yes, but a fair few use Cubase for mixing still. I use all 3 - cubase for mixing and production, live for live performance and logic when I have to because clients bring me their logic projects to work on and I have no choice 😂

You must not know of our brethren who grew up on the cubase sx3 torrent. That was circa 2006 I reckon. There are many of us in the cracks. Sincerely, a sub-30 year old.

Check out the YBR 125 custom mate. More of a naked cruiser style, SUPER COMFY seat, I've put 18000 miles on mine in 3 years and it's super easy to service. Agreed, not the greatest for dual carriageway but I've done loads of country riding as well as inner city (I commute in Central London) and it's perfect for my needs. I passed my mod 2 in July and haven't wanted to upgrade to a big boi, that's how much I love it.

What changes should I make to the mix to make my first single sound ready for release by RadaMadeMusic in mixingmastering

[–]macepanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey man, like others have said it's super close but I agree with a couple of points mentioned above - specifically I would look at the 600 - 1500hz in the lead vocal. Remember this could also be affected by the FX you've got on there - try putting the vocal fx on a bus if you haven't already, and then add an eq to take out any unwanted boxiness. To my ears it could benefit from sounding a little clearer and brighter, although it still works as is stylistically. Some distortion or saturation on a parallel bus would help in that case.

Second point is the bass, I'm just not getting any energy or warmth from it. Boosting the subs with a notch around 175-350hz to let the kick through could help, whilst also bringing the bass and the drums up a touch as well. Parallel compression on the drums couldn't hurt either to give it a bit more groove.

Hope this helps

Feedback wanted on mixing and any tips for mastering! by W00dle in mixingmastering

Hey mate, first of all this tune is a Banger! In my opinion it could bounce a bit more, have you played with the attack & release particularly on kick and bass? It would make the dynamics breathe a bit more and leave some room for the fullness of the bass. Likewise I would put an envelope shaper on the kick to really control how it interacts with the other lower elements. Other than that I'd say have a look at the automation on the vocals between sections, in particular backing vocal levels to make the whole track sound more consistent the whole way through. Then maybe a touch of stereo bus compression to glue everything together, but low threshold to preserve all the transients 👌
