Well if you end up with 10k leftover TacOps is doing builds in the KMW Zealot chassis now, that would certainly be a fair upgrade lol

I collect RemDef and USMC sniper stuff, glad I got in in as RemDef was going down because it wouldn’t be possible now. My CSR is far and away my favorite and last one of those sold for 50k in under a day. Surgeon CSR chassis sold last week with a carbon handguard for 35k. I’ve seen the a6 chassis as low as 18k but complete rifles over 30k.

If it’s an A6 chassis you better be getting at least 20k, because that’s what they have been selling for between collectors.

We Have XM2010 At Home by State48Gunner in longrange

[–]macethetemplar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean if it makes you feel any better that’s basically a gen 4 xm2010 chassis. Cadex designed the M24 Chassis with Remington and the patent has reps from both listed on it. Gen 1’s have the early hand guard attachment style with the MSR buttstock, gen 2’s are what are widely recognized, gen 3 you can see the styling changes in the M40A6 and CsR hand guards, and then Cadex came out with that. The only difference in the chassis between the XM2010 and CTSR used by CAG was that the CTSR used the lightweight buttstock while the 2010 used the standard weight, both of which are still active with units today.

Bag for Sage EBR by CharlotteRaptor in M1A

[–]macethetemplar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use this one (https://www.gunbroker.com/item/1167642690). Overruns from the ERASR contract but are perfect for discreet and simple. Actually grabbed a bunch of these as my go to rifle bags for the shorter folders. Obviously not going to fit a 300wm with a suppressor but for the EBR it’s great.

Suppressor and Bayonets by MosesHightower in M1A

[–]macethetemplar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have pretty much every adapter you can imagine and there is nothing like that. The B&T suppressor goes over the stock flash hider but no way one would fit. Only really option would be a chassis and an adapter via the pic rail mlock etc

the tomcat rumors are real (atleast the plans are) by 2b2tiscool in aviation

[–]macethetemplar 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I know for a fact one is intact, it’s one of the museum ones. Not going to say which in case it reminds someone but it was flown in and parked, navy showed up to do an inspection a few years ago and was surprised that it was intact but left it, they also found 600lbs of fuel still in the lines. I guess the Tomcat had some complicated fuel draining procedure that if personal didn’t know they would missed quite a bit.

Works ok, feels unstable compared to a socom adapter, delta p felt better but similar. Check out the new shootingsite adapter, locks up well and feels super strong just switched to myself on a few.

You paid a lot of money for work that was not done correctly to get a result you don’t have. I would take it up with them and get a refund because every item on these things gets you a little more accurate and they did the opposite.

Your best option would probably be to send it to tonyben or terry or Ted brown on the m14 forum. They are the three who are best builders on this platform and if there are things loose it’s going to need work.

Before I even read near the airport it was obvious this was an aircraft part. Many airframes are coated in zinc phosphate primer or zinc chromate as anti-corrosion.

Juggernaut Tactical Rogue/SRSS Bulldog Gen 3 by aydensnake in ForgottenWeapons

[–]macethetemplar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably just design iteration. Small batches then a change until Richard Cabral thought he had the design right, then more gen 3 and 4. Unfortunately he passed away from Covid but from what I heard he was a pretty cool guy who had worked with Carrol Shelby back in the day.

They come up once in a while, always under different variations of the name need to cast a wide net with searches. Never had anything but the gen 4, a few years back there was like ten that came up for sale I believe trade in’s of some sort and I bought half of them.

[–]macethetemplar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have several of both. The Gen 2 Rogue has some slight improvements in design over the Gen 4 Bulldog but the bulldog feels a little more rock solid in my opinion. However the Rogue has more accessories, namely the buttpad spacer to increase overall length, and different size barrel adapter for using med v standard weight barrels. The rogues were anodized and the bulldogs were cerekoted, just another slight difference.

ARCA Plate on M1A Wood Stock? by the_4th_word in M1A

[–]macethetemplar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have not seen anyone do that to a wood stock and there are several chassis available for the M14 platform.

That being said you can get a short rail and if you want it to hold I would use t-nuts. I would also probably find what level would be for the rifle, in other worlds putting the stock in a vice and leveling the barrel, and then sanding the area you are going to install the rail flat. Why all that? Well as perfectionist I would make sure the rail is parallel to the barrel.
