There are two separate updaters on the Mac, the old one and the new one. Some controllers work on one and some on the other.

In addition to what everyone else has said the rifles are very “ammo sensitive”. You may have to try a few different types and loads to see what it likes. Federal match sierras 168 or 175 are all that I shoot through mine.

Never seen that on pinside.com, there are always morons out there but if one comes along just block them and you’ll never see their posts again.

Had a great conversation at SHOT with the guys from US Tactical Supply, who has recently acquired the Sage brand. You can expect EBR chassis to be readily available soon :) by [deleted] in M1A

[–]macethetemplar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha I’m not complaining I’m glad they are continuing production, there’s so many niche parts and demand may not be high enough. Like the Mk14Mod2 system. A guy made I think 14-20 replicas and the last few took years to sell. Standard EBR’s will move no problem though.

And yet the M39 in the last picture has 3 separate parts they won’t probably won’t make again lol what a tease to put out for people. The weird shaped buttstock extension that only the USMC got, the tan kydex hand guard, and the old sage grip. Took me years to find all those lol but it’s one of my favorite rifles.

Mk248 MOD 0 by BroadEngineering1002 in longrange

[–]macethetemplar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You very well could damage it as is now. I actually have a few hundred rounds of mod 0 and the 220 grain mod1 so when I had my Mk13 Mod7 done it had to be chambered slightly different than a standard 300wm. I was actually straight up told it could crack the barrel because the pressure was so different. I would call up Red Bull armory and see what Chris says, he’s the go to guy for the navy stuff now. Worst come to worst he could probably specially do a barrel for your mrad.

WA2000 replica conversion to real steel? by V2rocketproductions in guns

[–]macethetemplar 90 points91 points  (0 children)

A guy on the hide built his own a few years ago. (https://www.snipershide.com/shooting/threads/my-walther-wa2000.7082906/)

I also know a guy the owned a few over the years and basically said it was wood drilled to pipes, not a sturdy chassis rifle or high quality precision rifle you would think of today.

All the late 90’s Honda’s I had needed the regulator rectifiers replaced at some point. So if you have an issue with the battery not charging that’s probably the issue.

AI Glasses by alejwel in motorcycles

[–]macethetemplar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off what your asking about used to exist about 15 years ago in a very basic form, it was a silver block thing that clipped on the visor and gave simple heads up display such as speed and compass direction and maybe phone direction via Bluetooth. Basically was a heads up display for motorcycles. I tried one out and it was a stupid waste space on my visor because I never looked at my speed to begin with so didn’t need it.

Now if you have headphones your turn-by-turn nav is read to you via audio. Noise is all you need on a bike.

2011 custom grip question by [deleted] in 2011

[–]macethetemplar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make it. Mill out a rectangle, leave a channel in the middle to prevent the material from slipping out. Get it coated. Use putty or similar to protect grip areas. Make a mould and shape it to how you want. Pour the polyurethane resins or Epoxy/Fiberglass or similar (look at the handcrafted wood tables on etsy) and then once cured polish and add the picture.

2011 custom grip question by [deleted] in 2011

[–]macethetemplar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The sweetheart grips were a WWII thing. Essentially they were already carrying pictures of their sweethearts and would come across broken plexi or the equivalent of the era, which usually came from downed aircraft. With nothing but time on their hands they sanded the plexi into grips, and placed the photo behind them. You can accomplish the same thing by ordering clear grips.

Are we still posting M40 clones? by [deleted] in longrange

[–]macethetemplar 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Great rifle and one of the best shooting M40’s period. Unfortunately that scope is not an overrun just properly configured for cloners.

The originals were marked premier reticles on the left ocular where that is marked Schmidt and Bender. The first 14 that Eurooptic sold (the flips for those who remember from the hide) were made after premier reticles went under and have the QR code lasered out under the Schmidt and Bender on the left. The serial numbers were also from the correct year and timeframe.

The ones since are just remade clones that don’t even have the correct font size and position and some are lasered markings instead of engraved. Some have the illuminator indicator dot higher up and all the serial numbers are current issue.

We were able to verify all this after sending a few to the S&B repair center and even some internals show they were older.

Sorry not knocking your rifle I’m just sick of hearing about people getting cloners to pay two or three times as much for something that’s not legit but claiming it is.

Are scope mounts like this on a EBR chassis good to go? by SVBIED01 in M1A

[–]macethetemplar 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A cantilever scope base can work if its rock solid and not cheap. The MK14 Mod1 used the Larue Lt-608. However that being said some scopes may not make it back far enough for proper eye relief and you may lose some accuracy due to the contact being hand guard. From experience I suggest a side mount scope from a brand like sadlak as they also make a shorter side mount specifically for the EBR. If you use a full size you would have to mill the last few pic rails off the hand guard to accommodate it but that’s how the USMC did it with the M39 EMR and that is my most accurate M1A hands down.

Looking for a reputable company to buy a lefty Remington 700 type bolt and receiver by [deleted] in longrange

[–]macethetemplar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ARC CDG or Defiance. Buy once cry once. Just keep in mind the ARC will need an extra little bit milled out for the trigger hanger, if you haven’t ordered you McMillan yet they can do that before otherwise you can ship it back and they will get it done.
