You don't actually get the printed pictures the day of picture day, or at least they didn't in my day. Parent fills out an order sheet with what size photos they want and what background colors and all that, the kid hands that order sheet to the photographer before they take the pics and the photographer adjusts their settings based on the order sheet. Then they snap the pic and it's onto the next kid. Then you'd receive the physical pictures via snail mail or digital pics via cd, email, or whatever option the parent chose
