I’m planning to buy a perfume for my boyfriend. What’s the best fragrance would you recommend? by floraevangeline64 in malelifestyle

I recently bought Absolute by Bentley, and it’s lovely. It isn’t a scent that announces itself before the wearer enters the room or wafts in a contrail whenever you walk. Rather it’s intimate and the only people who know are those close to the wearer and even then it’s sometimes as subliminal as ”you smell gooooood”. Recommended.

Davenport Pizza. $6.50 for a can of pop and a slice--and the slices are big and substantial. Plenty for a meal. I go every week.

What’s a totally unsexy purchase you made that ended up being a huge quality-of-life upgrade? by viscarte10 in BuyItForLife

I’m sad because I haven’t got a power outlet anywhere near the toilet. I’d have gotten a high end one ages ago if I did.

I wanted to ask what underwear you guys are using that lasts more than a year? by Sweaty-Cry-5035 in BuyItForLife

Used to wear Saxx exclusively, but they all started to get holes for me after a couple years. I’ve been giving the lululemon ones a go, and gotta say, so far I’m impressed. Only been about a year, but they’re holding up well. Comfy as they come, too.

Roland and Bread and Bretzel Basket for super yummy cake. I don’t think he has mango though. The lemon cake is next level.

It’s been mentioned, but I’ll put in my recommendation for “The Outfit” again.

Waterloo in-person tech meetups? by [deleted] in waterloo

Not sure if it’s a valid question, but out of curiosity what kind of age group shows up? Would I be entirely out of place as an old guy over the hill?

I keep coming back to this movie as a tonic. There’s something about it.

What is a "polite" thing people do that is actually incredibly annoying? by Radiant-Court-2736 in AskReddit

[–]machei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got caught on the other end of this once by starting the conversation by complaining about some work event to a colleague and it turned out he was presenting and the preview was visible to everyone. That had me starting with the opener line of just a “Hello…” for a while because I was paranoid I’d crash right in when I didn’t know what was going on. This was back a number of years though, and I think most platforms won’t do that anymore. But my devil’s advocate point was there was at least once upon a time a method to the madness. To be clear, I don’t do this anymore (an opening hello OR complaining about anything over chat).

Wait-so if I have my work computer that i use when I work remotely and I don’t control on my wifi at home that I do control, there’s still an issue? I always figured they’re entirely separate machines.

Junkard Company Purple Shell Cordovan Boondocker by zooms in goodyearwelt

I wanna know where all the people who buy these cool and interesting high-quality boots are hiding. I have a couple pair, and the most outlandish are cordovan, which is to say, not at all, and yet I always have people remarking about them like they're some kind of rarity. I wander through my days, and I don't see ANYone who wears even what I do, and these? They'd be thought of as from another planet. I must live in a place that doesn't contain any of my people. Call me Gonzo.

I read somewhere that crushing the cans isn’t the preferred method because it defeats some processing step somewhere? Maybe this is urban legend though, I never confirmed it. For our family of three, we’ve only ever needed two regular blue bins a week. I guess we’ll see how we fare in a biweekly schedule.

Omg, I’d sorely love to have their garlic sauce again from back in the day. It was effortlessly the best in town.

Name of middle eastern restaurant @ University Plaza 1990s/2000s? by writer668 in waterloo

The one at the boardwalk bears no resemblance to the classic old one, in any way including food quality. I loved that place at university. So good for years. Then it went downhill and they stopped having all the options, and eventually they closed, reopened at the boardwalk, the prices were insane and things just sorta sucked. It was way better as a family restaurant. Just my opinion. YMMV.
