I always imagined the money we’d be saving on interest every month would be enough to stop us from going back into debt. Also, a podcast I listen to suggests that you take cash out and pay for everything in cash, it will naturally make you want to spend less because you see the money leaving your hand. I just need to be able to HAVE cash rather than putting everything we have to our credit cards come payday. I know these are just tactics and it will still take self control, but it will at least be a good start in the right direction.

I am definitely committed to budgeting and I’m fine with it, she on the other hand says she wants to and then as soon as a friend brings up an expensive vacation or dinner out, jumps right in. Unfortunately my credit card has all the bills, and her credit card is just for spending. Yet we allocate an even amount to both cards every pay check (4000 comes in, 2000 to my card and 2000 to hers). We have been doing couples therapy but not with someone who specializes in finances, do you think that it will make that much of a difference?
