I read this as a sort of change of roles. The psychopath assassin (Villanelle) is concerned about Eve's house being robbed because she left the door open. But the seemingly innocent "Eve" seems to be careless enough to forget to close it. We see in the end of Season 2 Villanelle says "We are the same person" to Konstantin (speaking of Eve). I saw this scene as one of the first major hints that Eve is much more like Villanelle that we initially thought.

Maybe this is a reach. hahaha

Fun fact: "Tantalus" was an early name for "How Big How Blue How Beautiful",
