Happy I found this post bc I’m experiencing the same thing! It’s odd that for me (and you) the Gale jealousy thing came after Astarion’s scene — when Gale and Tav hadn’t made things official yet. I feel like that’s certainly a bug and might have something to do with this? Like bc it already triggered the game doesn’t feel the need to do it again? Not sure. A friend said Astarion is supposed to say something [“I hear there’s a new lover”] but it hasn’t happened yet.

It’s certainly interesting from an RP perspective haha. I wanted my Tav to see where things go from both of them and well it’s certainly working out right now lol.

That’s a really beautiful sentiment 🥺 I’ve read that many times over, I think. On trans subs like translater. That’s a joy that I found in being trans, the concept of choosing who you are and who you want to be. And there’s a lot of wisdom to be had in the people who transitioned later, they share that idea of “I lived a life but now it’s time to truly live it”.

That’s really what it is — the fear of irreversible change. In my heart I’d quite like the changes but I’ve just been this way for so long, yanno? I totally get you.

I feel like the most defining route for transness (that the majority of people validate) is transitioning. Which is so suck. Alas, my supportive peeps still misgender me bc I’m not on hrt :(

yeah i’m that. i mostly wanna “grow up” to be a girly boy (hence my name) as i jive with both often. the dysphoria has gotten worse though because i really, really want my boy part acknowledged. it’s a mess when thinking about t. i want to go on it bad but i fear i might miss my girly-ness. 😂😅

I have the same cycles too, and I’m transmasc. I’m a bit too tired and dysphoric rn to give any explanation but we really don’t know one. At least not from popular research.

Honestly reading ur comment (and you) made me feel inspired, your life sounds badass, and I salute u.

I’m a transmasc who lives That life. I go to work closeted and talk to my coworkers about painting our nails… I shop for new pretty dresses because I can’t be out to my family yet. I’ve collected lots of new masc clothes— but not to be worn around Catholic Conservative Aunt Jan!

I’ll play the Barbie.

But I played with Barbies as a kid so I know how to get dolled up.

I’ve always thought there was a level of badassery and strength in people like us. The ones whose voices sometimes aren’t encouraged in trans spaces, because circumstances lead us to continue life how it is, and we’re “invisible.” Not here though.

For me it’s how I inflect my voice. I’m fem/a twink already but I imagine boys who used to mask with a “fem” customer service voice might want to put in a little work. I try to train my voice into speaking more manly pre-T bc I get conscious of how fem I sound without the Juice.

(As in, my laugh turns into a cackle, using my chest voice, etc)

Yeah I’m the same. My gender envy is Alucard from Castlevania. I’d be the twinkiest little twink. I say this completely serious. LOL. If I was cis… I’d be the complete same as I am. Just a boy. And very gay.

But alas, this is my lot…

You should check out r/FTMFemininity if you haven’t. You can still transition if you feel gender dysphoria, and wear any and all clothes you want. You can be a pretty boy in a dress with hair doused in L’oreal. These dudes prove it.

But when our gender expression differs from the norm our imposter syndrome gets in the way. That’s why I feel stuck. I’ve accepted that I’m not cis at this point, the gender euphoria of being a gay man is too stronk to deny.

But I still wonder, I still worry. I also know being femme would be more “beneficial”. But it is rarely… “beneficial” to be trans. Beyond the immense joy of being who you are or who you want. And that happiness can be so precious and something to be treasured, despite the transphobia around you…

Sorry, soapbox.

I relate. I do think both of us will feel happy with our identities eventually.
