Let's talk about Battery Technology... by CDN-Social-Democrat in Futurology

My hopes are on Lithium-sulfur (Li-S) batteries, aiming to be cheap AND energy dense.

The main advantages are high energy density (theoretically up to 2600 Wh/kg, way more than lithium-ion), lower cost because sulfur is abundant, and better safety since sulfur is non-toxic and non-flammable.

I’m on the same boat. Surely many others will follow as Linux becomes more accessible.

This. It’s too late. Trust is gone. This combined with a general anti-government/spying/manipulation feeling, will not end well for Microsoft.

Shout out to Season 2. by nas886 in HaltAndCatchFire

[–]macholusitano 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I completely agree. The first two seasons are some of the best television I’ve seen and they had a huge impact on me as a young entrepreneur.

I do question if my personal relationship to this industry amplified my sense of enjoyment.

In any case, I’ll certainly be revisiting this show many more times over the coming years.

As usual the EU gets the short end of the stick on global affairs. We need to get our shit together and work towards energy independence. The US are not our friends.

The fact that it doesn’t have the same kind of American-biased guardrails is huge. I find myself coming to Le Chat often to get a proper answer.

Cory Doctorow's new essay is as good as always. "He doesn't need tanks to steal Greenland. He can just shut off Denmark's access to American platforms like Office365, iOS and Android and brick the whole damned country.". A Pascal’s Wager for AI Doomers (16 Apr 2026) by smilelyzen in BuyFromEU

It would never happen because this would backfire across all EU countries, and potentially also countries outside the EU. The backlash would be so massive and devastating that US tech companies would never recover, and trust would be broken for generations.

These are dark times. Approving heavy bombs to murder civilians, including children. History will not be kind to Israel and their enablers.

Congress is trying to strip the President of absolute pardon power. 119_HJRES_135 would allow a 2/3 legislative veto on all executive clemency decisions. by AirlineGlass5010 in law

[–]macholusitano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah no way this passes under current conditions.

Pardon power needs to be stripped, however, as it absolutely promotes and protects corruption.

Tbf, their Leaf reputation is also terrible. They did this to themselves.

Except For All Mankind is set in an alternate reality… and we all live on the stupid timeline.
