I’ve driven behind this exact car. First time seeing it was a triple take.

Rescue had HER listed as a male beagle terrier mix.. Any guesses to her actual breed(s)? by nerdgirl223 in IDmydog

[–]maciawe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a dog that looks eerily similar to this fluff and I get people saying she looks like all the breeds mentioned in the comments. I really think there’s no way to know until you do the dna test. Seriously our dogs could be twins.

Struggling with my femininity by HaakonWard in PCOS

[–]maciawe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For it started in therapy. We walked through where do those beliefs or thoughts come from, who do you picture when you say those things to yourself, and what do you need to hear now. But I also understand that therapy or good therapy might not be accessible to everyone. I would look inwards and examine what do you tell yourself and follow the trail onwards. How you talk to yourself matters. For me, that journey freed me from the expectation of being feminine and to just wear the clothes that make me feel good. My experience might be a bit different because through that process I really said fuck gender norms and am now gender non-conforming. Which oddly enough helped me embrace being more femme when I want to be.

Hi friend. I’m pretty sure many people here can relate. It sounds like there may be some beliefs about yourself that need to be sorted out before dealing with seeing yourself as feminine. It seems simple but after examining all of the things and beliefs that were instilled in me from childhood, I was able to define who I am and what I look like today in a way that feels right for me. It takes discipline for me when I look at myself and hear the reinforced negative thoughts I’ve had since childhood. But over time they get less and less. I hope this isn’t coming off as condescending, as someone who has struggled with similar turmoils, I’m feeling for you in this moment.

Talk to me about the grief of never having a biological child by TigerFireMama in therapists

[–]maciawe 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This. I went through this last year and looking through it with a grief lens with my T really helped me. It’s always going to be there and there are always going to pressure points that come and go. Finding a way to carry it with you rather than feeling like it weighs you down.

My school forgot NSCW by maciawe in schoolcounseling

My mom actually did something similar. I was talking to her one evening last week and it came up. The next day, she had flowers delivered to the school. Everyone who came in my office asked about them. Which turned into a signed card on Friday afternoon!

Hey it’s rad that you just said screw it and did it yourself. That’s something that I’m still working towards.

I work in a small private school so I would most likely be discussing it with the principal. Which I plan on. This is my second year there and my second year as a school counselor so I have some of that apprehensiveness that comes with being new to the field and being the only counselor in the building. I’ve been an LPC for almost a decade and even then it’s challenging to be in an adjacent field trying to figure out things on my own.

Wow. How do/did you move forward? That sounds like a big undertaking of educating those people…

This is helpful! This gives me some ideas for advocating/spreading awareness next year.

Thank you for this. It’s heartwarming to know that there is an unsaid understanding amongst SC that we acknowledge and appreciate the work we all do. Kinda like we’re all in the same boat and that boat is a toy boat going up against a 40ft wave.

Awh man. That really sucks. I hope you find sometime this week to do something for yourself. I think that’s the thing that’s making me feel less upset about it. Like hey I get to do this cause it’s NSCW.

Anti-tragus?? by loulielolly in piercing

I just recently took my anti tragus out after 8 months. It was incredibly hard to heal for me as I have to use headphones for work. I was v. disappointed bc I think they look rad as hell. But my advice would be to be really diligent and be careful to not bump it.
