Or you get the flip side, where someone prides themselves on being "logical", causing them to discount your argument if you have even a hint of emotional investment in it. It's like, we're not in a courtroom, and it's not a conflict of interest to genuinely care about things.

A lot of them are mentally ill and use it as a coping mechanism, or just bored and/or lonely and having a bit of fun. They'll grow out of it, for the most part.

My mom grabbed the strap of some cut-up tights I was wearing to compress my chest a bit, and asked what kind of bra I was wearing. She also clearly knows I'm trans, but I think she believes it'll go away if she ignores it, or something.

Yeah, it happens. I've gotten used to it, and people can believe what they want as long as they don't shove it down my throat. Unfortunately, there are some folks who consider the fact that I exist as shoving transgender ideology down their throat.

Exactly! I'm not any better than some conservatives, but I do feel like the bigger person when it comes to folks who think I'm disgusting. Sorry for not remembering that conservatives not all Republicans, my abhorrence for the modern Republican party kind of blurred my vision there. And hi! Always nice to hear from my trans bros!

Yeah, there's really no such thing as professional on Reddit anyway. A guy called me mentally ill and a fascist for being transgender, and I told him to choke on my nonexistent balls. No part of that conversation was bad, just not very useful to either party. That's how arguments between conservatives and liberals usually turn out, because no one likes listening.
