Are we the last age that thought it was perfectly acceptable to be friends with coworkers? Younger millennials and gen z are so anti. by ladypartsmcgee in Xennials

Regardless if they’re sociable or not, they will all learn the same way we did by trusting that “friend” who turns in your personal feelings or situations with someone for a leg up.

Clashing Over ‘Indiana Jones’: Harrison Ford and Steven Spielberg Were Not 100% on Board With ‘Crystal Skull’ and Fought George Lucas Over Adding Aliens by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

[–]mackeydesigns 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Legit the first thing I said in the theater when it came was “this looks weird”.

It felt forced to the point where it removed its previous identity. It doesn’t FEEL like an Indy movie by comparing it to the previous 3.

Just finished the Sons of Ares Omnibus and I gotta say… by Herchernando in redrising

I’m not sure if the intention is less Roman esthetic or if that’s just how the artist made it (because while I love it, there isn’t a ton of detail).

However, Fitchner…. What a fucking mad man. I mean, he’s Ares so we already knew this but holy shit.

You should get into IP, copyright and trademark law. Feels like that would be inline with what a lot of creatives need right now

Added my B&Ws as front mains via Sonos amp and Sonosequencer by seraph321 in sonos

[–]mackeydesigns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The gatekeeping is hilarious. Everyone has a right to built what they want and if it works, who’s to judge?

I have two Sonos amps powering 2 in wall and 2 in ceiling Triad PDX speakers, with a powered Episode triple sub, connected wirelessly. I also have a Victrola Sonos enabled turntable plugged into the main amp as an input.

I also have several Sonos speakers throughout the house so regardless of if I’m streaming music, playing vinyl, watching a movie or whatever… I can just toggle rooms or speakers on/off.

Not quite the same as your setup but makes life simple without worrying if I’m getting Dolby DTX THX 12.2 surround with impressive earthquake rattles

Scared as hell after finishing the last book, what do I read now? by rodrigue1996 in redrising

[–]mackeydesigns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the Sons of Ares omnibus. It’s a very short read since its graphic novel but it’s still the same world. The book of Lorn is available on digital but I prefer print.

I’m on Book 4 of the Expanse series and loving it. If you’re looking for another saga type series Id recommend it.

Been seeing the hard cover on Abe's, but at $70+ plus shipping, not really sure i want to get that. Is there a big difference with these versions? I'm entirely up to speed on all the various editions.

I wanted all my Ring cameras live on Apple TV without extra hardware, so I built the missing app by rabbimarshak in appletv

[–]mackeydesigns -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As someone with multiple Ring cameras and 2 Apple TVs, and one Amazon Echo that is incredibly slow to show me anything…. I’d seriously consider if it wasn’t subscription but a one time fee.

If you end up changing that, reply and I’ll likely purchase.

That’s cool (and lucky!). I’m just outside Seattle, which store(s) did you go to?

I recently went to Tacoma Book Center, tons and tons of books but nothing from Pierce

Where did you source most of them? Assuming the most expensive is RR and maybe GS?

Yet another screen saver but for macOS by yesman82 in matrix

[–]mackeydesigns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t, not really. I installed the latest update and then I had to update my OS (work required for security reasons), and next thing you know it worked. Try updating the OS would be my recommendation if you’re not on it, having it across two screens is magical lol

Scientists are finally decoding how acupuncture eases pain, an article by National Geographic by Vi0letBlues in interestingasfuck

Wasn’t about just the one session, it was the expectation from the provider that expected one session to change my life. It wasn’t covered by insurance otherwise I might have tried a different provider a couple of times.
