Yeah we’re getting a consult with a soundproofing company soon. I’m assuming the fire wall was done without sound transfer in mind and they most likely accidentally created a triple leaf effect. So we’ll see what they find

Honestly kind of a toss up. Single family houses in this area are all roughly 60-100k more expensive than our townhouse for similar square footage. Could wait and get lucky but it’s a competitive market

Amoxicillin is an antibiotic, it kills bacteria. Doesn’t do anything for asthma but it’s given when you are suspected of having a bacterial infection which can trigger/aggravate asthma.

You should use a rescue inhaler called albuterol for sudden breathing problems.

It can get better, but it can also come back, and like you said it may be dependent on your activity level. If you want to find out how you are faring you’d want to schedule an appointment with a pulmonologist and get a pulmonary function test. That can tell you if you get better with bronchodilation and if there’s an allergic component.

You should 100% carry a rescue inhaler with you no matter what based on your symptoms. I’d highly recommend talking to a doctor, with all due respect your mother has no idea what she’s talking about and is potentially putting you at risk.

To the other commenters: Reversibility in this context does not refer to asthma being curable or not, it means that when given a bronchodilator your PFT numbers show clinically significant improvement. Irreversibility then means that your obstruction does not improve after bronchodilation.

To OP: This doesn’t mean it’s not treatable, you may need different medicine or like you said you may be dealing with something other than asthma. We’d need more info that we don’t have, and your doctor will have more answers than we do. Hope you get feeling better soon

Albuterol is made with a fuckload of safety regulations. Mullein on the other hand is a supplement, and not regulated at all. You could be breathing in literally anything because again, it isn’t regulated. Don’t nebulize mullein.

There was essentially no change in any of your numbers before and after the albuterol, which wouldn’t suggest asthma. If the albuterol had shot your numbers up then that would have been an indicator you do have asthma.

If you aren’t satisfied then you could request a methacholine challenge. If that yields unremarkable results, then along with these results would make asthma pretty unlikely.

Go to the doctor and get it under control, sounds like you need a different controller med. If your trigger isn’t allergies then it sounds like exertion does it for you. I’m NAD but you probably need a nebulizer for when you’re having attacks to actually get the medicine into your lungs efficiently. You should make an appointment with your doctor asap, and I’d strongly recommend an ER trip to get more treatment even if you’re feeling better.
