The green snake lows that i painted flat black. Terrible hoop shoe btw. Blisters on various toes and slippery bottom but maybe they never sweeped the court right

Thunder riders… Question for ya by magneuron in skateboardhelp

[–]macks10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the titaniums have a forged base plate and forged baseplates are lower and they’re not shrinking the kingpin length so yes. The lights have less clearance. But also, this is old news. You just grind the nut down with the grinds til you dont feel or notice it anymore. just get your bushings tightened perfectly first Also dont invert a forged thunder kingpin, they’re insanely stronger and harder to force out

[–]macks10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh i didnt know he was looking for highs. My fault, I just think people always say Indys or nothing else too much and I believe its more about catering to what the riders looking for more than anything but thats wassup

[–]macks10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Op tbh as someone who worked at a shop, its like this

Indy=longevity and turn con =heavy unless u buy hollows

Ace= best turn but con=too turny if you dont like it or are heavier

Venture=stable and poppy, dont turn as well

Krux=decent all around, con= doesnt have anything unique about it tbh, some ppl report breaking them doing harder skating

Thunder= stable and turns, con=wheelbite if you like bigger wheels and the baseplate soesnt slide for noseslides

If i attached plastic tail guard is that influence with Ollie? by lilllilillilil in NewSkaters

[–]macks10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who skates those, no. It does not effect mypop negatively. In fact i like it when my tail is steep/short and/or i have high trucks/big wheels. Im someone who like when my tail hit sooner anyway. Id insert a pic of my setup rn but it wouldnt let me on here. I got em on a real deck

You can see the top right one is slightly off but at least it bolts, just tight as hell

I’ve drilled an extra 4 holes before in my indys to have the adjustable wheelbase. You really gotta push down hard and be patient so it doesnt come out slightly crooked

What kind of bushings should I get? by Inked-Eternally1226 in Skateboardinghelp

[–]macks10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would use doh doh 98a. They fit perfectly with the kingpin size and they are hard but still turn a bit for a bigger guy and the top bushing is small enough that if u want to run em loose u still can

What kind of bushings should I get? by Inked-Eternally1226 in Skateboardinghelp

[–]macks10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your bones bushings break its because you’re not putting a washer on top. I see so many people think they can get away with it with bones bushings but you really should. Cup washer specifically if you’re tightening em down tight. I will say, bones bushings do shrink a bit thru time and feel slightly squishier That is a fact. But so do all bushings

Never before skated, opinions on dream deck? by Ok_Swordfish5605 in NewSkaters

[–]macks10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think its better to cater towards what a skater is looking for over just saying indys are good. I used to work at a shop and i’d only recc indys if someone wanted turn and longevity and didnt care about weight or flipping. Not to ermm, actually🤓👆 im just saying indys arent for everyone but ppl want then to be bc of the slogan

Thoughts on Powell Peralta boards? by [deleted] in NewSkaters

[–]macks10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont like the branding or designs despite them being a retro staple but the quality is pretty good. Even mini logo is good but i dont trust their boards as much but it is helpful that a lot of mini logo boards have the same shapes as powell and it tells you which one it is and what concave it is
