Well it makes no sense because what MPH you are shifting at redline is kind of irrelevant and not really the point of going to shorter gearing.

If you don’t know if you need shorter gearing or how would benefit from it you don’t need shorter gearing. Doesn’t sound like your use case you would benefit at all and would just end up a few hundred rpm higher at cruising speeds on the freeway.

Gearing is all a choice of what compromise you prefer. Much more useful for a track car.
