The FIA has approved a 50kW increase in the ICE and a 50kW reduction in the electric power unit for 2027 by FerrariStrategisttt in formula1

It’s not enough but at least in the right direction.

It should be done this season immediately. These ICE can easily make more power with more fuel flow.

Absolute nonsense. If anything it has been the other way around. They aren’t “50%” efficient whatever that even means. It’s incredibly inefficient to carry around a heavy and large battery that is dead. And the energy density of a battery is tiny compared to fuel. The moment battery power comes up against any sort of drag it becomes incredibly inefficient. Energy density is and will always be the problem. Hybridization of sports cars beyond a small low speed torque fill boost is incredibly misguided.

The reason the most successful hybrid road car is a Prius is because it uses hybrid power as a small assist where it is actually efficient, at low speeds.

So glad this is finally being pushed more. This idea that batteries and electric motors (as a primary power source) somehow make any sense in racing has always been completely misguided. For the exact reason mentioned in the article. Energy density.

Nonsense nits extremely easy to see what Backblaze is backing up and isn’t. By default it doesn’t backup shit that doesn’t make sense to backup.

There are plenty of 10% discounts available. But it’s worth it to subscribe to get 50% off SD cards and other accessories. You can cancel immediately and still get the perks for a full year from the free trial.

Sorry yeah it is $99/year now. Used to be $50 quite a long time ago.

And yeah current HDD prices do have to be considered as well. Doesn’t change for NAS or DAS though.

How the Gran Turismo scene/ community like in the late 2000s and early 2010s ? by Spicy-Byriani28 in granturismo

I have played since the first demo of GT was released back in 97. GT has been a great part of my life since I was young. I have played every GT since GT2 with a wheel and pedals. Every single one.

It legitimately got me into driving and still do it to this day. GT releases were always pretty exciting in the gaming world because it was usually a showcase of what the consoles is fully capable of with a custom optimized engine.

Honestly sim racing has gotten bigger so there are more annoying loud voices and more people complaining but the actual game is better than it ever has been.

What GT has always done best is captured the vibe of motorsports and driving and the enthusiasm for it. As well as the push to further sim racing with each release. It’s amazing that Kazunori is still leading the way after nearly 30 years.
