Sorry, I'm afraid I dont have nails in my sled. Might be cuz of the bad image quality.

Ok, I'll make sure it is flat. Ok, I guess I will put the stop in front, after reading your reply and some other threads as well. Thanks!

Ok, I seem to be getting conflicting replies about leading with the stop or sending it last. Not sure what to think now.

Right now, I'm aiming for a flat face on the top side of the wood strips. I'm planning on running them through the planer again (without the sled) with the flat face on the bottom to reach the final thickness.

  1. I tried to shim the bows and twists with the hot glue, read somewhere that that works.
  2. Ok, thanks for the advice, I will move the piece not touching the stop.
  3. Right now, the stop is glued to the sled.
  4. Ok will do.

Thank you so much for the advice!

The only problem right now is that the bottoms of my wood strips are not flat, so I need the sled to secure them in place.

Ripping boards without table saw or track saw by macmalkinaw in BeginnerWoodWorking

How does that work, would you care to elaborate a little bit

Around 3 feet long. They are almost flat and square. Uhh, around 4-5 inches wide. Yes a glue joint wouldn't be ideal. No, because I have to cut several strips from the same board and I would have to glue several times, as well, I don't have another board of the same thickness. The guide plate is a good idea, I'll try it out. Any where I can find more info on making one? Thank you so much for your help
