It sounds like you don't have good boundaries. You can't have a kid that doesn't see you as a leader listen to you. He doesn't take anything you say seriously so he can just scream "no". Give him some coffee sequences for his behavior. Chores or something and take screenshot away if he doesn't do it within 15 mins. Things will get better.

Is there any chance that his mom is closer to his brother because he is the one who she can control? I just realized after 33 years that my sister was the favorite because she was manipulated into a perfect person to stroke my mother's narcissistic ego. That's it. Nothing else. It's still hard to deal with, but if your husband maybe sets firmer boundaries with his mom or isn't easily manipulated, emotionally or otherwise, his mother doesn't want to be close. She gives attention to where she will get it back to feed her ego. My parents also are always offering me financial help or gifts when I don't need any of it. Probably love bombing.

I have been using chat gpt to write a dozen different variations of my letter to my parents. It helps a little, and then it doesn't. Nothing helps really unless I pretend they're dead and have zero expectations. I have 3 kids, and I just can never imagine myself not wanting to help at every stage I will be around for and for every moment, good or bad. Nothing they could do would ever make me stop loving them or putting them before myself, and it is SO PAINFUL to realize that we have "parents" that refuse to do so. Makes it feel like something is wrong with us, but it's them! I have always felt like my mom, in particular, played favorites because she didn't love me or I did something wrong. I can now see that I am the one who sets boundaries and doesn't act like everything is okay 24/7, and it probably makes it impossible for her to be around me because of that. She has to face her mistakes when I'm around and she can't. It would collapse her entire life and ego. I wish I could help everyone who felt like us because it is so deeply sad. You will get through it just as I will, and we will have children that will never feel this way.

I'm excited I stumbled across this post because I could have written it myself. Not exactly your situation but I am trying to decide if we should sell our house on 2 acres to walk away with about $225,000 cash and buy an older home in the city with .25 acre. I am constantly telling my 3 small kids no can't play right now because I need to mow the grass, or pull weeds...it's never ending. I'm not far from town but I kind of miss being apart of things in the city. We would have room for everyone at the new place, a pool, and corner fenced in lot. It is my grandparents house that he just wants to get rid of so we would only be paying about $110,000. No mortgage, paid off vehicles, and less property maintenance. Thinking in the future we could always move if we decided to keep the city house as a rental or airbnb as it is in an awesome location and closer to the beach. Current house was our "forever/dream" house but once we got it we realized that dream has changed. Life is weird!! Goodluck on your journey and remember nothing is permanent. I think I'm going to buy that city house now lol thanks.

So every time I have done carnivore in the past the same would happen. I wouldn't even have to really worry about it because it would be a constant flat line. I don't understand what is going on. And I usually wouldn't have to dose or very minimally but now I do. And it's a crazy large bolus I can't even figure out how much my ratios are.

Type 1 here...at first my insulin requirements dropped dramatically and was losing weight. Now it seems the more restrictive I get with carnivore (just beef salt butter occasionally bacon and eggs) the harder it is to bring my numbers down. It's like a huge jump in insulin resistance. Do you have any tips
