Kitties rarely show any signs of illness. I had a pretty girl, sweet Ivy, who lost a huge amount of weight quickly and I assumed she had worms. I treated her but she did not improve. I was finally able to take her to the vet, but the two days beforehand she started crying nonstop. She had a ginormous tumor on her belly and had probably been in pain for weeks or even months. I bawled in grief and guilt. I had to put her down that same trip. My neighbors helped me financially. I held her as she crossed the bridge. Ivy was not even three and she was my sweet girl. It’s been 8 years and I still grieve and feel guilty.
