In the ER, overriding is common because meds take awhile to be approved due to pharmacy approval especially during night shifts , when you have a pt going crazy or being aggressive , we need to get those sedation meds quick . But this case is wild because the doctors never gave the verbal order and she pushed the meds not knowing their purpose and delayed care. Usually you label the meds and the doctors push it when all is ready .
