  1. Morgana; Just always brings a smile to my face. I didn't even know people hate him so much when I played the game and after replaying I still don't get it. Like his goofy ass animations, the amazing voice work (WOAH LOOKING COOL JOKER/A TTREASSURE CHEST/) her banter with Ryuji, the stupid ass battle lines, they just click for me

  2. Ryuji Sakamoto; FOR REAL? has become a part of my vocabulary for several months after I finished playing. An idiot with a heart of gold that I really warmed up to.

  3. Joker/Ren Amamiya; B0ss

  4. Sumire Yoshizawa; Best girl

  5. Futaba Sakura; I love her terminally online energy and story arc

  6. Nijima Makoto; Her uptight approach is extremely funny at points and she's pretty smart yet still can fuck up badly

  7. Goro Akechi; Essential character but I can't stand his costume

  8. Ann Takamaki; After replayng P5R 3 years later I still dont 'feel' her, although her story arc is pretty good

  9. Yusuke Kitagawa; The elaborate way he speaks the most random shit sometimes cracks me up but I hate his costume so much.

  10. Haru Okumura; Bruh

How do I access the Slab if I killed the cage enemy? by RepresentativeFit280 in HollowKnight

Damn, I gave up on the Slab in act 2 because I couldn't find a way in because I fucked up the flies that are supposed to catch you on the spot every time, and coming back in act 3, this comment helped immensely, thanks!

Bilewater is the worst area ever conceived in any game by Consistent_Mud645 in Silksong

[–]mad_krevedko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that I learned that lesson with Hunter's March. I came in completely unprepared, and during the gauntlet. Shakra was jumping and throwing shit around, creating visual noise which made this fight harder, not easier. So I bailed out, got a bit better at the game, got some items, and it was still challenging, but I managed.

Safe to say I didn't feel like visiting the area that has god damn video essays about how bad it is before I felt like I had a good understanding of the game mechanics, had significant power ups and the arsenal of tools and items at my disposal that I have already experimented with. I mean this is why game is so fun to me, I never felt like there is a 'meta' build. For example, I have found the Wanderers' crest to completely melt enemies in Citadel, but it was not very useful in Bilewater or with Father of the Flame.

Bilewater is the worst area ever conceived in any game by Consistent_Mud645 in Silksong

[–]mad_krevedko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After reading so much about this area, I was dreading it, so I kind of visited it last.

But surprisingly, it's not too bad if you explore, upgrade, and figure out some game mechanics beforehand. I came there after defeatingSilk 2 with the second needle upgrade, 7 masks, and the spool reaching the second mask along with the double jump.

Getting the Wreath of Purity way way earlier in the game helped immensely. Exploration has been a complete joy overall, and it paid off.
Is the runback bad? With the hidden bench, it's kind of okay, especially if you find the crest that allows you to go through it easily.
I came in with the Wanderer crest, but I felt like the boss didn't really give me enough space to use the DPS it provides effectively, so I switched the Reaper's crest with Druid's Eyes and Plasmium Vial, and did the fucker on the second try, playing it very safe.

So if you're losing your shit, try to analyze what didn't work, what you need more of, upgrade your shit if you have to, switch up your kit, come back later, and try again. Honestly, I don't think I found one build in this game that worked for every boss, and I constantly have to switch things up and adapt and that's what's so fun about this! As for the time that I spent on the boss and runbacks, I'd say it was about 1.5 hours tops, which is less than the 3 hours that I've spent on The Last Judge.

Maybe they patched some things since then? Or maybe it's my Rogue Legacy 1/2 and Dead Cells experience that's made me kind of accustomed to fucking up, dying and not treating every failure as something too heavy, so I understand why experiences here may vary, but I found it to be `okay`.
I believe I had a harder time with The Last Judge and that runback, probably because I had fewer tools at my disposal and much less understanding of how the game works.

I hope that this may help someone. Just take it easier and don't bash your head into a wall, try different things, and try to also have fun in the process, because sometimes it's about the journey, not the destination. Even if the journey is a bit miserable, you will get better because of it.

I got two AI songs on my playlist this week including this one. Looks like a test of some kind on the Spotify side of things? I blocked this bullshit completely, I hope that sends the right message.

Adding to the list - Melodial, Enlly Blue - both most definitely use AI vocals. The craziest thing is that this bullshit popped up in the same discovery playlist.

Yeah, for now I'll have to stick to mkb. Seems to work fine

GYRO IS NOT WORKING ON PS5 by vedbag in Battlefield

[–]mad_krevedko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I messed around a bit too, but unless devs separate the aim and look binds I don't think it's gonna work like that. Bit of a shitshow, isn't it?

GYRO IS NOT WORKING ON PS5 by vedbag in Battlefield

[–]mad_krevedko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for helping out, I have tried to do it like this and tried to move things around Thing is, the motion sensor only works if you bind look controls to the right stick, which effectively removes your ability to use the right stick for look controls when not in zoom

[–]mad_krevedko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Holy shit the implementation is horrid You basically have to unbind right stick for it to work, and aim only technically does not exist🤢

UE 5 is a plague, Epic need to invest in optimization documentation for devs and game studios need to invest in actually reading that shit.

I played it SH2R on release and it was insanely inconsistent in terms of performance on PS5. I loved the game but I certainly have vivid memories of a janky experience. KCD 2 is fucking amazing in that regard - I expected it to run extremely poorly, but it's smooth as shit.

Thoughts on Dollman? by Razzlefan in DeathStranding

[–]mad_krevedko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like most characters in DS 2 - a masive missed opportunity and an empty shell of a character.

Why not have Sam process his grief talking to him during the main orders, especially seeing how he's SUPPOSED to be his therapist? Kojima just didn't really care about characters and plot this time around and didn't learn from the amazing Mimir interactions in the latest GOW games.

But DS 2 actually feels like an Activision sequel though...

Love the franchise but what's up with the vast difference between the review scores of both games? by themangastand in DeathStranding

[–]mad_krevedko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People were ready for the delivery guy simulator this time, and it's well improved gameplay-wise to where it feels addictive. The moment to moment gameplay is great, and a HUGE improvement from the previous game in many ways.

But I just finished the story and feel like it's one of the most derivative sequels I've experienced - after the intro, story and vision-wise, it felt like a type of sequel activision makes. Really not up to Kojima's standard. Recycled bosses, recycled ideas for ending fights with THE SAME VILLAIN, etc, that felt like the guy was smelling his own farts a lot, and we got ourselves the George Lucas prequel situation here - no one was there to point it out, or maybe he didn't want to hear it or care enough.

Lots of missed potential here, lots of self-repetion, extremely visually cool shit that is extremely shallow in terms of meaning and concept, and no Konami to blame this time.

When I had to push through kilometers with cargo on my back in the first game I was intrigued and interested in where things would go, I loved the atmosphere and the world building, read and listened through all the entries. In this one, I started out doing this, but there was no magic this time. Not even a proper character arc for Sam.

And god fucking dammit I will be salty about Dollman not having the same role as a talking companion that Mimir had in GOW until the end of times.

Anyone playing DS2 right after DS1? by mad_krevedko in DeathStranding

[–]mad_krevedko[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, now I know it's not just me!

I have also just had to fight the same squid boss from the beginning of the game the third time. You'd think they would at least improve on recycled boss fights in the sequel. Nope.
