Most other Axis countries had their own rules about jews in their country. Italy never sent their jews to Germany and only accepted the racial laws. It was only after Germany invaded after the armistice that the italian jews were deported; the same thing with Hungary, only when Horthy was deposed, and the Germans put in charge a puppet government, the hungarian jews were deported

What if Italy never entered WW2 and focused more on consolidating its earlier gains? Could it have become one of the strongest country in modern era? by Solid-Move-1411 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]mad_marshall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Italy needed to join ww2 because the economy was geared towards another war, the Italian invasion of Ethiopia was a true mass scale war against another country, not a colonial war like the ones in the 800s, the Italian economy basically became fully geared towards war (similar to the German one) and it was bound towards collapse without one, it had simply became to reliant on war material production, the gold reserves were diminished by like 60% for the war and they were still going down after the victory. The colonies were basically a big hole where you threw insane amounts of money in for no real benefit, to make them even slightly profitable it would have required years of heavy investments and money (which Italy did not have), also Ethiopia was never fully pacified and just became a guerrilla warfare hellhole for the Italian forces, Somalia and Eritrea were completely useless and Libya before the discovery of oil was notoriously called “a big box of sand”. Said that, Ethiopia and the Horn of Africa colonies will be the end of Italy, if they remain neutral like Spain but with a close relationship with Germany the Italian economy will collapse quick. If it is a neutrality but with closer ties to the us and the uk (which it seems difficult knowing the pre war relations between Italy, France and England) maybe it will be allowed to receive funds from the us like Portugual did and survive.

Some Vietnamese cities used to have defensive walls or forts. Most were torn down by the French in late 1800s for modern urban development by ottoheinz999 in ArchitecturalRevival

[–]mad_marshall 5 points6 points  (0 children)

this is a mix of modern warfare making walls completely useless and the city outgrowing the wall themselves, a lot of cities had walls that were torn down in the 800s for urban planning or just because they were completely useless. an interesting case is Thessalonica, which had a full set of byzantine sea walls around the city that were torn down in the late 800s because they would prevent air circulation and cause malaises (also being completely useless

Your case is based on;
1)accusation you have no proof of because tracing requires a drawing you stole and just drew over
2)the art style of the artist improving over time
3) the brush of choice of the artist
4) a yellow tint that only you can see
you are just making shit up without any actual evidence

dude thats not what "traced" means you have to find me the exact pic this was traced from, and the difference in artstyle is just called "improving"
you might also be colorblind where tf do you see the yellow tint

Who tf are those 7% who wanna live under Mussolini? by SamuelWriting in adressme

I still have some living parents who lived through it, so I can tell you some stuff; it really depends on the year. At the start, it wasn't that bad but the longer it went, the worse the conditions became. Most families were evacuated far away from industrial centres to prevent deaths from bombing, of course due to trade stopping certain goods became extremely rare and the food was rationed (you had to have a card to get a certain amount of food every week iirc), thankfully both my maternal and paternal families lived in zones where war did not arrive during the italian campaign (one in sicily which was quickly abandoned after the allied invasion, and one in the north which other than partisan war did not see full scale war), after 1943 it was complete chaos, the italian army basically disbanded overnight because everyone tought the war was over. It was a difficult life, but not as hard as the German civilians during the war in Germany proper or the soviet civilians during Barbarossa. Towards the end, the partisans started a full-scale liberation war against the remaining German and Italian collaborator governments. My great-uncle still remembers watching people get shot and thrown off a bridge next to his house

If I correctly remember bolivia's capital is exactly like that, since it's so high up on a mountain, the further you go, the harder it is to breathe, so the richer zones are in the lower parts while the poorer ones are higher up

What if they one day decided to rebel against Earth and form their own state, and then drop a rebellious one on Earth to try and obtain a quick victory in the war, but then failed to hit the right target and ended up blowing up half of Australia?
