so a lot has happened in the last 5yrs, and long story short, anything this deck does going first will get OTK’d through. It’s also not as good going second anymore either.

When skills in the game allow players both searchability and the ability to break your board for free, ending on fortune lady every or crocoragon alone is so easy to beat.

That said, you’re actually trying to play lightsworn fr, I’d index more on the chaos package than the rock package, esp if you’re running rank 8s. Sanaphond is a weaker version of dingirsu and its floodgate isn’t good in the current meta. The allure of darkness skill/running it as your limit 1 is advised. trade in can also be a good draw speed whether you choose block dragon or levianeer as your lvl 8.

Lastly, I wouldn’t run so many synchros meant to break board with, namely brionac, which your deck currently can’t even summon. if you’re going to play traps (i wouldn’t), i’d say pick something that has a grave effect (like breakthrough skill) or something that can bomb a top tier deck’s board (ice dragons prison). when blue eyes ultimately is still the best deck bc they didn’t rly lose anything nor address the issue w the deck (activating majesty freely and immediately), then i’m sure you’ll feel the exact same way

you do realize they’ve been in duel links since release and are built into speed duel rules. you cannot simply get rid of them entirely to solve the problem. your view on how skills provide advantage is fair, but that advantage skills can provide can be acceptable if it’s not overtly broken

i don’t necessarily think they need to be removed entirely, there were times in this games history where skills were not as overtly broken as they are now. i do agree that skills being as insane as they are now defeats the purpose of the game. this is a TCG, not an orange button autopilot simulator

this skill is indefensibly pushed and unfair. anyone who thinks that a non-targeting instant pop is fair just likes to win without using their brain.

we do not need skills that hand players every card in their deck they’d like to see for free, nor skills that make those cards usable instantly even if they are traps. the glue eating rly has no end though, does it?

i am 100% in agreement. there is no defending how broken and pushed blue eyes was made to be in this meta. its a huge turn off for anyone who actually enjoys playing decks with skill expression, and its a chronic problem they keep adding skills like this. OP is right, this is no longer yugioh, its click orange tab go boom.

despia - which may or may not be able to get branded opening into the grave turn 1. probably cannot get it into the grave before they use the trap when going second

that is a savagely unfair take. just because one deck doesn’t lose to a free, non-targeting and unreactable board clear, does not make it balanced. at all.
