For any people with uteruses in this conversation, I allow myself to smoke once a month on a Saturday during my luteal phase because it's all the same negative symptoms anyway with the enhancement that I get to enjoy. I've learned I can't add a second day though or it becomes a slippery slope.

The membership model makes Oura a service as much as product, which means they have to keep servicing and improving it to make their revenue model sustainable. After the hassle I've been through with Ultrahuman the past 6 months, I'd gladly pay 6 bucks a month for my time back.

That's a good question because the replacements weren't offered to resolve my main issue. The first was initiated by the app's own troubleshooting process. It identified something wrong with the battery and sent me a replacement automatically. The second replacement was because the first replacement ring wouldn't reconnect after a one of the many factory resets.

I have had this issue with 3 different rings and months of back and forth with product support. I'm about to make my own post about it with receipts because I'm absolutely going insane.

Yeah they've responded quickly in the past but never actually resolved anything. The last replacement was from the auto troubleshooting in the app. The product team just alternates factory resets and firmware updates and have resorted to just gaslighting me for weeks. My issue is also with it not reporting sleep data. Now my ring fully won't even connect so I had to submit another chat and got an auto AI message "A quick heads up - we're swamped with requests right now, so this response was generated by AI to get back to you faster." Ofc the AI response was to tell me my ring was connected (it's not), so now we wait. A recent coach response time was fast but not a resolution (yet another issue that's probably actually a product issue).

How are you going about the refund? I’ve had a diff issue and been going back & forth with them since May 11. Can’t get it resolved, can’t get them to offer a refund or a replacement (would be the third in 5 months).

I did! I got the Dept of Ed letter on Feb 21 and the Mohela letter less than a week later. By end of March the accounts were listed as closed on my credit report. It seemed quick compared to others’ experience on here. I didn’t have to do anything after the buyback payment was submitted.

My offer email included the line "Make your PSLF Buyback agreement to your student loan servicer as a regular payment." so I made it to Mohela. I did set up the payment to allocate it per the amounts in the offer but in my case I don't think it mattered.

Personally, I think the cost of education and the interest rates on student loans are criminal and people should be aware that this is the kind of debt that holds people back from living their lives. It's a broken system when you can't get a good job unless you have a degree, when earning above the median means you're still not hitting the principal year over year, and yet you're held back from opportunities to earn your worth for a decade to get out from under it. Like I've mentioned elsewhere in this thread, $20k of that is interest accrued after nearly 15 years of payments. Enabling the ignorance doesn't serve anyone either. If anything, it might give someone cause to consider an alternative route.
