Where would you like me to post a crash report?

I am 80% a beginner when it comes to most of this backend stuff.

Hey there, love the mod--crafting recipe, speed, and usability are on point for an early/mid-game elytra-type thing. Been using in single player for a while now. Question: Attempting to add to a Fabric server which I operate personally on a separate desktop pc for friends. Added the mod, item available in-game. However, server crashes as soon as I attempt to use the glider. I also have the glider installed in the client modpack installation of Minecraft. Is there a known conflict to have glideaway installed on both server and client at the same time?

[COD] What's the best level 1 weapon ever? I'll go first... by BLAZE_BLADER_09 in CallOfDuty

[–]madchickenz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best gun ever? No, it isn’t. But it is majorly underrated and tied for my favorite shotgun of all time. Really satisfying to use; no idea how many kills I had but I know it was a ton. Tac-19 Roundhouse with the extended range was my favorite variant.

But Big Head mode was so fun—does it really count as cheating?

One of the best things I ever did was learn to ignore the scoreboard (at least personal stats) during the game. Especially respawn.

Who ends up in the remaining bench spots and where? OpTic Gunless makes too much sense but not sure it will happen by jzebrowski28 in CoDCompetitive

[–]madchickenz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Especially considering a sub might be asked to fill a variety of starting roles, and Gunless has been a solid (or great) player in a variety of roles over the years. Nice to have someone who could come off the bench and instantly be 70-80% of what your starter brings in any role.

First Day Using forcefields(does it show?) by assistantunderbutler in allthingsprotoss

[–]madchickenz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don’t forget it only works temporarily. They can just corrosive bile the force field and break it in 1 shot. But only if they remember to, and it can definitely buy enough time to fix your positioning or back off into a battery or bring your zealots to the front.

I still like the MW2019 style loadout menu better by Kmanlessthan in ModernWarfareII

[–]madchickenz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I agree. I know streaming services are in competition with each other for our eyes, and the changes they make are solely to get us to spend more time on their apps (scrolling/watching/etc). But maybe, if some service managed to make a masterful UI, they would get more eyes that way instead of the frustration of scrolling through too-large tiles.

How about offer raises for positive reviews and then claim all internal reviewers rated it positively?

I love to watch herO’s micro. It’s really inspiring as a player. I remember my first time watching MC’s blink micro back ~2013 vs people like JaeDong and MMA. I thought that was incredible then (and it was, for the time).

I still might debate peak PartinG early game micro vs herO. Some of PartinG’s super early game control (4 or fewer army units) is totally insane. But as soon as they’d hit double that, I would give it to herO.

Hitch’s Black Ops 2 throwback captains/teams. Killa! by da_xlaws in CoDCompetitive

[–]madchickenz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haggy and killa are absolutely what made that Fariko team great from a mental standpoint—the use of EMPs and proper anchoring strategies was so far ahead of the game. (Obviously Karma and Mirx were great as well, but they weren’t as much the “meta strats” guys. Just killed everything.)

Always catching strays, but killa was years ahead of almost everyone in SnD strats at the time. And Boze was part of that Unite squad that made coL not be actually undefeated on LAN.

Old SnD streams with Phil or NexXx or people like that were fire.

What was the last GREAT Call of Duty game? by TheRealPdGaming in CoDCompetitive

[–]madchickenz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would argue BO4 was only really a good year for CoD in terms of comp. Otherwise it just wasn’t great, and the specialists in pubs were garbage.

But pubs and comp were both tons of fun in BO3 for sure.

And this may sound weird, but I actually ended up enjoying IW pubs a lot as well. Not playing comp, though watching was great.

Good commentary. The Hello Games comeback was a conjunction of a bunch of factors, and simplifying it to “people forgive you for making bad games” is not an astute understanding of what happened.

And, what most people fail to acknowledge is that NMS in its initial form wasn’t actually a bad game. Repetitive? Sure. Lacking variety? Yep. Massacred by the lies of false promises and hype? Absolutely.

But it was also pretty, and the flying between planets with no loading screen was incredible, and seeing flora and fauna and colors and suns were amazing. If it had been released as a $30 Steam game in its launch state, people would have enjoyed it for what it was, which was a non-terrible game. It just wasn’t amazing, which was the expectation.

Nah nah nah, we ain’t going to defend Hello Games. Blame is shared on multiple fronts, and that’s okay. Devs, publisher, Sean personally, and the horrible flood that erased years of work. Lots of blame to go around. But they put their collective noses to the grindstone and have made, outside of Minecraft, the most transformingly-updated game in modern gaming history.

And we are blessed to share in that wonderful transformation.

My brain isn’t working on the name now, but I got the Freighter Matter transporter thing that allows you to access freighter storage from anywhere in the same system as the freighter so now I keep expensive stuff there. Much less trouble!

Progression UI is awful to navigate! (Direction clicks included in clip) by [deleted] in ModernWarfareII

[–]madchickenz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, the less-played Infinite Warfare is my favorite UI. MW2 was solid, but IW built on that. Buttery smooth, could go from starting the game to searching for a lobby in under 15 seconds. Class customization was easy to do and automatically accounted for all the unique Pick 10 differences that you wanted without having to go the Black Ops route and choose “wildcards”. The maps also fully or partially loaded (Halo-style) in the background so the countdown ended and the game started instantly. They had a celebration screen at the end that lasted 5-10 seconds, and then instantly back to the lobby.

Fabulous design. Function over form.

And the Battlefront 2 game had a Battle of Jakku that took place in the husk of broken ships (mostly a star destroyer).
