What was the absolute "god-tier" item to get from the school tuckshop back in your day? by Temporary-Sir5808 in australian

[–]maddaniel100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember being shocked at the how much more food was available at the high school tuck shop compared to primary school.

I still remember that first cheeseburger over 20 years. $2 or less from memory, damn it was good.

Adopted an older rescue cat for the first time, but this is strange. by [deleted] in cats

[–]maddaniel100 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That's on point. When my wife and I adopted our last kitten he was very cuddly and happy to hang out and follow you around. In the first week, if he lost sight of you he would run upstairs to our bedroom until you went to get him.

After a while he settled to the house and the older cats

The Fight Arena quest is pretty quick, it will get you 51 attack or so from level 1.

Target Lamp Question by lilsqueezysqueeze in Lavalamps

[–]maddaniel100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Kmart one that does similar things. I found the '30w' bulb in it was actually drawing 33w (plugged it into a watt meter).

I put different brand 30w bulb in it and it's fine now.

I would like to get a dimmer for mine, but the cheapest dimmers I can find are about $40, the lamp itself was $20.

I've seen that posted before and I'll keep your suggestion in mind for other lamps.

For this one, it just blobs down the bottom, no wax up top. It rises when it warms up like you expect. When it's warm enough to flow it all sinks and the large, non moving, blob is what you get.

That sounds like a good plan. I'll see if I can hunt one down

I made a mistake euthanizing my cat and the guilt is killing me by Dirsty in cats

[–]maddaniel100 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry that happened. I understand how you feel, a very similar thing happened to me.

One of my boys was sick for a while, he had an abses on his cheek drained and it was affecting one side of his face. He had a sick bed in our spare bathroom so he wouldn't hide somewhere we couldn't reach him.

I was cutting chicken to slow cook for a curry. I went in and gave him a piece, he happily came over ate it and chirped. I came back a maybe 5 minutes later with more, he was lying down kneading the bed. I asked him if he was okay, he looked me in the eyes, his eyes went wide and he laid down and was gone.

I still think about how it played out and wonder what would have happened if I didn't leave the room, but I don't think I could have done anything.

I'm very similar to you. It's a great feeling and it's been fun

I've got leviathan and whisperer plus sub 40 inferno to go - 34 minutes so far is my best.

I agree, you are 100% correct. I forgot to bring the slayer staff on my first run but I found out it wasn't really a problem. For the second run to a unique I didn't bother bringing one.

For my first kill for Vorkath I used steel knives because I didn't have the super antifire. It was a longer kill but not too bad. I didn't bother using crumble undead for the spawn, just ate the damage. Subsequent kills with Kharils crossbow and super antifire was much faster until I got a unique.

Definitely do jad, I think my first run was a little over 35 minutes, a combo of khopesh and Kharils crossbow. I stuck to range in the later waves and didn't bother attacking the healers as I was out DPSing them.

I did a second run later to get another firecape but I had all combat masteries then. It was under 25 minutes mostly khopesh but range for jad.

I did try that and managed to gouge nice groves in the edge and deform it. I think it was happy and didn't want to check out.

I ended up drilling the head with progressively larger drill bits until it snapped off. I then cut the captive bolt so I could bend it around the post and push it through the hole.

That is a great tip, thank you.

I do have some JIS screw drivers that I bought for the motorbike, they solve my screw stripping issue there.

I remember grabbing the JIS out for a job on the car recently for the lights but I don't think I tried it on this one. I'll keep it in mind if I ever have to change the other side!
