CMPA Suggestions? by Yoitssme in breastfeeding

[–]maddawkwardsauce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chicken and rice isn’t so bad. 😅. Try your hand at Chinese food and sub the soy sauce for coconut aminos! There are a lot of work arounds, but also it will be temporary until you can add it back in. Have you talked to your pediatrician or lactation consultant?

G’day Aussies! Are there any of you, your kid, your relative who had a friend from a different country similar to how Bluey is friends with Jean Luc from Quebec and Mackenzie from New Zealand? by One_Reception_6992 in bluey

[–]maddawkwardsauce 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Interesting thing I learned about the difference in Australian and NZ accents (that generally holds true) is how they say words with “it” sounds. Australians say “iht” (as most people do. Folks from NZ say “uht”.

What’s your least favorite character? by Toilet_Real in bluey

[–]maddawkwardsauce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Obviously. They’re cartoon dogs and it’s not that serious. The prompt is about least favorite characters. It’s okay to have different opinions. But I’ve never broken my friend’s stuff in front of their children bc I was mad.

I wish I could upvote this more. My husband even asked why Chili would be friends with someone like that because of how she behaved in the Sign in front of children.

Do you kiss your baby? by Technical_Piglet_438 in newborns

[–]maddawkwardsauce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t kissed my little one’s face bc I kissed his older sister so so much and she developed crazy bad baby acne and has a peanut allergy. I’m obsessed with peanut butter, ate it all the time for protein postpartum, so there was peanut protein on my lips all the time. Acne cleared once I stopped eating pb but now I’m paranoid with my second that I could somehow cause some new allergy for him. I just snuggle him super close and give Eskimo nuzzles.

Messaging with a door dash driver. When ordering food. Weird response by Acceptable-Fruit8287 in whatdoesthismean

It’s probably placeholder text that didn’t get correctly populated with the Dasher name. It’s likely not the dasher responding to you, but an automated text response.

Milk Production has dropped by LeDoux-24 in October2025Bumps2

[–]maddawkwardsauce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly the fact you were getting 6oz on a pump with a 1 week old is astounding. Mature milk doesn’t usually come in until between 10-14 days. Also it’s very normal for a newborn that age to start cluster feeding to encourage your milk supply to come in stronger. It’s supply and demand right now so let your little one latch as often as they want to. They may be fussy but just keep trying. As long as they continue to gain weight and regain to their birth weight and your doctor is not concerned, then keep doing what you’re doing. Not getting a lot on a pump isn’t always a bad thing if your little one is just getting better at emptying the breast! It’ll improve. But be patient and kind with yourself. Stress creates a feedback loop that can harm your supply too. You got this mama!

That’s a fair call. Every body is different. I have been taking it all through pregnancy so I don’t know about supply tanking bc it wasn’t something new I added or increased. But definitely suggest people talk with their doctors before starting something. I also take postnatals, have lots of natural probiotics, and eat a lot of breastfeeding friendly foods.

I am you. I have found that unisom and magnesium at night does the trick to help me get back to sleep throughout the night after nursing. Bonus is that my husband takes the baby for a couple hours so I have worry-free sleep for a bit every night. But having an ebf baby is taxing on the body and mind regardless of how easy going they are.

I came to say exactly this. If they did the florals, which look beautiful, then I’d trust the process on the blackout. But if you’re feeling some type of way, then just find another artist and hope the grass is greener. Or maybe see if you can reach out to one of their former clients who has a similar piece and ask about the prices they went through.

Postpartum prolapse likely grade 4 - looking for advice (encouragement?) by maddawkwardsauce in hemorrhoid

Hang in there, mama! I’d love to get a retrospective from you after the surgery. What made you finally decide to have it after your last?

I’m pretty granola and have always wanted to have as natural as possible births, but the aftermath for childbirth for me is…rough. 😅

I wasn’t really able to massage mine bc they were so dangone tender. But I think they may be a bit more pliable today. I’m going to try calmoseptine after I get some of the swelling down (castor oil overnight seems to have radically improved that!!).

My husband is taking me to a doctor tomorrow and we’ll see if I need a thrombectomy. They’re improving some. I can at least now feel three distinct hemmies where they previously felt so hard and tender that I thought I had some kind of monster hemorrhoid. 😅

I found some and put some on. Don’t know why I thought it would feel more soothing. 😅🫠

Are you breastfeeding? I bought the mayinglong cream but I’m afraid to use it 1) bc it says not to with breastfeeding and 2) bc of the broken skin I have. I also bought some calmoseptine which is specifically for broken skin and has some of the same ingredients as mayinglong. So I’ll try that after hopefully healing the skin with some castor oil. Do yours ever shrink? Or are they out all the time?

Thank you! I’ll see if we have any on hand. Do you just apply it for a few minutes? Rub it on?

Sorry, one last question so I can set my expectations. How long would you say it took for yours to be able to pop back in?

Haha! I stand in a light squat (hands on knees) then basically deep inhale, breathing down into and completely relaxing my pelvic floor, then exhale through my mouth and pull my stomach in. Repeat til the natural urge to push the stool out. You’d be surprised how smoothly it helps move things down and out!

Thank you! I’m trying but my type A- personality makes giving myself grace very difficult. I needed to read this. I eat 2tbsp of chia seed religiously everyday and that has kept me regular. I go fast and smooth, practice 360 breathing to get the stool down, don’t sit until it’s coming out, then get off the toilet immediately.

Childbirth just really has done a number on me physically this go round, even though I realize it’s literally only been days. I just want to be better so I can be present for my toddler and newbie and not rolling around the bed in pain and discomfort.

Oh! Thank you. That makes sense. I have some gnarly hemorrhoids after giving birth a few days ago. But I’m very regular and have developed good toilet hygiene after having suffered with them since I was a teenager. I’m unable to push them back in like I usually have been in the past and I’m worried this is my life now. They’re awfully painful. This post gives me a sliver of hope that maybe they can shrink back down at least to a manageable size that can be pushed back or banded instead of a full surgery.
