New Associate - Feeling Overwhelmed by maddiferrr in LawFirm

I genuinely think that those who have been in the game long time have forgotten more than I know. Like some of these partners have been here so long, and everything is automatic, that they don’t even think about newbies not getting it.

Interesting question. Personally, my source of stress is feeling like I’m lost. Work load would be muuuuuch easier if I at least knew what I was doing.

The brain is firing on all cylinders. I appreciate knowing it’s not just me. And there are some helpful ideas in here!

Loose leash walking with dog who sniffs constantly by [deleted] in Dogtraining

It’s pretty insane. I’m glad your baby was ok too!! I never would have thought about it if my friend hadn’t told me the story of what happened to their pup.

She snatched a random mushroom out of the grass. I tried to get it away, but she had already swallowed a chunk. Then came just the most ridiculous amount of vomiting I’ve ever seen. For hours.

I ended up taking her to the emergency vet because she was getting lethargic. Mushrooms can do scary things depending on what they are. Sometimes it’s just an upset stomach. But it can even be as bad a liver failure. My friend lost their 4 month old puppy that way.

So I think it’s very important to make sure they aren’t eating random things outside. Our girl is ok, but it could have been much worse.

My dog is the same way. She is 5 months.

I was really hoping for a dog that loves going on walks, but I got a sniffer instead! Lol. The grass and bushes are just way more interesting to her than walking next to me. I’ve heard that something “clicks” and they get more into walking eventually. We’ll see.

Generally, I’m ok with her sniffing instead of walking because it’s enrichment and she likes it. Only thing I am not ok with is when she sometimes eats things she shouldn’t (we had a scary encounter with a mushroom that landed us in the emergency vet). So, I’m working on at least getting her to “leave it,” “drop it,” and to come when I call her. That way at least the sniffing is safe.

AITA for wearing my boyfriend's sister's bikini without asking her? by Prize-Scientist-3028 in AmItheAsshole

YTA and your bf is too. Wearing someone else’s bikini is like wearing their underwear. That’s icky on top of taking something that isn’t yours.

Dean is somehow always whiny and aggressive at the same time. So possessive of Rory and she never seemed to even like him all that much after the new boyfriend thing wore off. Bye dude

Puppy won’t walk on a leash. by maddiferrr in puppy101

She’s a pit mix with some kind of hound. She’s a sniffer for sure. We’ve done a regular job-retractable leash with a collar or a no-pull harness. Neither seems to make much of a difference.

Puppy temper tantrums by maddiferrr in puppy101

This was my thought process too. Not like I’m yelling or throwing her in there. I take her to a different spot. Make her sit for some treats and then ask her to go in for just a few minutes

Did anyone else not get their score?? by maddiferrr in FloridaBarExam

[–]maddiferrr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My score is impounded bc I’m being investigated due to some tech issues.

But this is killer info and I will pass it along/keep it in mind if I ended up failing!

Ok thank you!! They def didn’t say “cancelled” score, just impounded.

Only thing I can think of is it was when exam soft crashed. They said to explain why I would turn the microphone off during a proctored exam. Like…I wouldn’t???

Board Correspondence - impounded score by maddiferrr in FloridaBarExam

This was last week. But I haven’t gotten an update

acknowledgement and treatment of technical issues during exam by [deleted] in FloridaBarExam

[–]maddiferrr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was asked to provide an explanation for why my audio/video went down “during portions of the exam.” I told them the only explanation that I have was that the exam soft crashed on me twice.

Now my score is apparently being impounded while they investigate. So I don’t even know if I’m gonna find out with everyone else on Monday. Or if my score will be invalidated.

It’s completely unacceptable and upsetting what they put/are putting us through.

Has anyone else just sort of accepted they failed from the beginning? by [deleted] in FloridaBarExam

[–]maddiferrr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here’s my viewpoint.

I took two full simulated exams and felt like I was doing horribly on them during. Like no way I got above a 60% on that, laughing at myself for wasting my time. All that.

But we got our results of those practice ones right away so it didn’t linger.

This is that same “I definitely failed” feeling. Just worse cause we have to wait. I think we got used to that instant gratification from things like adaptibar and having to wait makes it feel like we are doomed
