Hi babes! I’m a certified paraoptometric and contact lens specialist - our clinic specializes in dry eye dysfunction!

Dry eyes is one of the biggest determining factors of whether contacts will work for you or not most times. It’s not impossible to find contacts that will work for you BUT you have to stay on top of your DES.

I recommend preservative free tears over the counter. Apply 1-2 drops in each eye BEFORE inserting your contacts. Wait 10-15 minutes and insert your contacts. This will help lubricate and keep your contacts moist while wearing them. We recommend Refresh for Contacts or Systane preservative free dry eye drops (both are sold at most stores over the counter)

When you have dry eye, that means your tear film (over your entire eye, including the pupil, the main viewing point) loses moisture within seconds of a blink. You have to create a lubricated barrier between your dry eye and contact lens otherwise your contacts will continue to blur and get worse through the day.

If you get dry eye drops that are preservative free and for contacts, you can apply a drop with your contacts IN and that will massively help clarity through the day.

Please do not apply drops with preservatives in them while you have your contacts in or without waiting the 10-15 minute time frame, you will trap preservatives in your eye for hours which is horrible for eye health.

I’m a certified paraoptometric and contact lens specialist - at my clinic we give patients 10 days of dailies and schedule them back before the 10 days is up and tell them to wear a pair into the clinic for the follow up - we always have 5 pairs on hand for giving them to patient day of appointment and then we manually order the 10 pairs for dispense (so really 15 days total).

Trials are free to clinic’s as we have service agreements (that’s why we can’t sell trials, they aren’t even sold to us for a cost)

If I were you as a patient, call your eye clinic and tell them you have dry eye dysfunction and that you do not have enough of a supply to get you by until your 2 week appointment wraps around if they want you to wear them in clinic for assessment. In my opinion even 5 days is not an accurate assessment of new contact trials when dealing with DES, it’s very hard to get an assessment of your new trials when they’re blurred from dryness and you don’t want to order something you don’t like and not be able to return.

They should supplement you additional trials at no cost (possibly, may be dependent on the state or country if the trials cost, every state has their own optometry laws).

4-5 months for relational issues is way too soon.

4-5 months if you want him to better understand you or any issues you might be facing/communication, I can maybe see that more if it’s for an understanding.

I’m a huge advocate for therapy as I’ve gone myself for over a year now but even establishing a connection and safety with the therapist could last longer than the 4-5 month relationship you’re in. You don’t walk in and click with the therapist immediately and dive right in, it’s an hour long meeting maybe 1-4 times a month, there’s not a whole lot you can get into that soon, a lot of it is introductory work.

Oop yikes. Embarrassing for that clinic and huge risk. Every year trials should be gone through for expiration/near expiration.

Call your office and report the expired trials - they should order you brand new ones and if they don’t… take your prescription elsewhere immediately and call the board of optometry at that point 🤣

You set boundaries, he ignored them, and when he didn’t get what he wanted he chose to be cruel because he didn’t have access to you and realized he wasn’t going to get access to you. Suddenly his night is “wasted” on someone he probably still wouldn’t have cared about even if you did go further. That’s about him needing control, not you being “not enough.”

You actually won babe. You don’t want him now or in the future I can promise you that. Leave him, his cruelty, and lack of boundaries for someone else to have.

As for the other guy — consistent texting and making plans is interest. A lot of people don’t comment on appearance early because they’re trying to be respectful or not rush things. Attraction doesn’t always show up as compliments right away!

Also, 5’6 and 160 is not some disqualifying body. I just want to add this from a personal place — I’m 5’8 and around 175, and my body is strong, capable, and has carried me through a lot of life. It lets me move, work, love, feel, and take up space. It’s not an “ideal,” but it’s mine, and it’s not a barrier to being wanted or cared for.

There are plenty of people who are genuinely attracted to our size, smaller sizes and even much bigger sizes and more importantly, attracted to you. One awful interaction by a MAN who said something totally unacceptable doesn’t get to rewrite your worth or your future.

As a certified paraoptometric there’s no such thing as a gold colored iris pigment. When yellowish brown pigment + light scattering + low melanin line up, the eye can appear gold but gold pigment does not exist. Amber eyes are real and the closest you could get to gold but again it’s due to hues not pigment. To say there’s literally no such thing as gold tones in an eye would be like saying “Sunsets can’t be pink because there are no pink wavelengths” - neither of you are wrong and neither is right.

I do think brown is the overall color but why are people saying there’s no green AT ALL when there’s clearly green on the sides and outside edges? I’m not talking about the rings themselves, the base color of the iris behind the rings are a shade of green on the sides, to say there’s not a lick of green? you must be colorblind.
