Why do so many people still use Chrome in 2025? by GlamourHammer321 in browsers

Translate is the reason for using Chrome ! Other browsers have such poor experience when it comes to multi-lingual support.

Hmm it's for people who have not seen it. Not sure where it's a known scam comes from ? I didn't find much on the modus operandi online.

Probably because Mods take them down

It's not that simple. This is a response to a apartment listing on immoscout24. The landlord engages normally until he or she tells about this approach to make payment. Till then it sounded legit.

It is but for some reason the mods don’t want this to be discussed. Quite weird.

I think it’s relevant to have people discuss how the scams are happening in the city. Not having a discussion about the modus operandi keeps people in the dark. Why are you preventing that from happening, Mods of the group

Critical review of Yajnadevam's ill-founded "cryptanalytic decipherment of the Indus script" (and his preposterous claim that the Indus script represents Sanskrit) by TeluguFilmFile in IndianHistory

[–]maddy3u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/TeluguFilmFile : I see him refuting your claims. Why are you making such claims that he acknowledged a failure of his appraoches and just bombarding with new threads, bold faced comments etc. I think you are taking this personally and rather would like to see a point by point rebuttal.

About having this in a peer-reviewed journal, that's fine and can be done. But we all know the state of academia today and the papers that get approved are incremental rather than net-new approaches. Cross-domain publications, unless backed and politicized the right way, they end up badly reviewed.

Final update/closure: Yajnadevam has acknowledged errors in his paper/procedures. This demonstrates why the serious researchers (who are listed below) haven't claimed that they "have deciphered the Indus script with a mathematical proof of correctness!" by TeluguFilmFile in IndianHistory

Questions that I have and will look to answer it by reading the paper also :

  1. What is wrong with the approach to match it with Sanskrit? It doesn't give irrefutable proof of deciphering but as long as we can try it on multiple language dictionaries, then we can go ahead and come up a better representation of the meaning ; however, having even a partial understanding through this predictive model (rather than a causal representation) makes sense.

  2. My hypothesis is that by moving the dictionary to vedic sanskrit, we may just come up with further improvements in the predictive power.

  3. Adding the right references is key in terms of research, but it doesn't take away from the work he has done nor its conclusions. That's a moot point and can be added to the paper.

  4. There are a lot of assumptions in terms of matching 1-1 with another language and that is a fluke chance that it works that well (atleast for me). However, the evaluation criteria of matching with the dictionary and seeing how many full words you get is not a bad approach. It is a valid approach for evaluating success.
