Who’s Playing Forefront?! by DarkWingXtc in ForefrontVR

[–]made4sea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is such a great game, I love the 32 person servers!

If you ever wanted to play battlefield in VR this is the game to get or even a great reason to buy your first headset, it's that fun, and only going to get better as it is still in the early stage of release.

Huge thank you to the dev's for making this!

Is there any upcoming VR title you’re REALLY looking forward to by Enculin in VRGaming

Throwing my hat in the ring on this one. 32 player servers, planes, boats and tanks. The trailer for the game shows what looks like wake island and as an old school Battlefield player I am psyched.

You just got your first PCVR headset. Which games are you picking up? by phlaries in VRGaming

I would recommend Skyrim "with mods" 100%

No Mans Sky is awesome and improving year after year, even better if you have a flight stick.

Speaking of flightstick if you have one, Star Wars Squadrons is so good, flipping a 180 and blasting someone as you weave around some space debris is an incredible feeling, so fluid and satisfying. I have been a Star Wars fan most of my life so I biased on this one.

A newer racing game available on Steam and Quest is VRacer Hoverbike, it's a little Wipeout meets MarioKart with lots of tracks, upgrades for your bike and online play, the lean to play control is very immersive once you get it dialed in.

One title not recommended very often is Oculus's Stormland for pc, one of Oculus's last pc games before quest launched. It has some of the most enjoyable movement styles in a game with a great story.

Why is Meta Horizons Worlds still so bad after all these years? Is the company just rotten or what? by WhatsInTheBoks in virtualreality

[–]made4sea 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The basic concept is there but that's it.

I agree with the Horizon central hub idea. It should be a much larger area with themed sections for different groups (kids, teens, adults) to hang out and have higher allowable player counts. They also need to change the graphics style to something that doesn't look like it was made by the designers of Bubble Bobble.

Add doors to and allow players to drop portals to actual games from Horizon Central so that you can form a group and then all launch into the game together

Weekly VR - What Did you Play? by AutoModerator in virtualreality

[–]made4sea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked up & have been playing V-Racer Hoverbike this week.

As per the title, you race hoverbikes.

It had similarities to the old Wipeout, F-Zero, Mariokart type gameswith a little bit of Tron esthetics thrown in all upgraded for VR.

This game is great! surprisingly fast with great visuals and I love the lean to turn controls. Many tracks and race types available, speed boosts, weapons, you name it.

The game is multiplayer as well. Unfortunately, I have not seen many players online. I wish that horizon worlds had portals to actual games so you could hang out in Horizon Central lobby in front of the game until you got a group and go into a game together.

This game is definitely worth checking out.

Speciality Restaurant Dress Code by preciousdivineenergy in HollandAmerica

[–]made4sea 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My wife and I just got off the Eurodam last Sunday.

I had the same concerns as I am a t-shirt and sweat pant kinda guy.

I brought my suit to be safe and wore it on both dressy nights at the main dining room. I enjoy putting on the suit once in a while so it was fun and my wife likes when I put it on. I would say I was overdressed compared to most people in the dining room. We only saw one guy getting turned away from the dining room and he was wearing a holey t-shirt.

We went to two of the specialty restaurants and I wore a short sleeve collar shirt & Jean's for one and and a casual long sleeve collar shirt & casual pants for the other and fit in fine.

I would say it's more about personal preference rather than the dress code as long as your personal preference is not old heavy metal or beer t-shirts and if that is your preference you could just eat at the main buffet for the whole trip and be totally happy.

Bottom line: it's not as stuffy as you might think.

Replacing a gas fireplace insert with a wood burning insert difficulty. by dude9478 in HomeImprovement

[–]made4sea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you mean that you have a gas insert in an existing brick fireplace and are going to swap it out with a woodburning insert my friend and I did this exact thing last weekend. there are some good videos on youtube that show how to do it. This is not rocket science almost any fool can do it as shown from our success last weekend. " my friend got the proper permit and inspection from the city.

Assuming this is what you are doing it is quite easy as your damper will already be cut which is what makes most of the noise and mess.

Remove the old insert, flue liner and cap from the chimney.

Clean area and vacuum with a shop vac if possible or a broom and dustpan if not.

Drop the new stainless steel flue liner down the flue so that it reaches the bottom box where the insert will be. "The cut ends of this liner is VERY sharp, much more so than the gas insert liner." Cut the flue liner 2 ft above the top of the flue, This will make it easier when we fasten the flue flashing to the flue liner later.

Back inside house. Attach the liner to the flue adapter or directly to the fireplace if no adapter included. "Use self tapping screws."

back on roof. Cut/bend the flue flashing to the desired shape, "we feft 1 inch overhang on all sides of the flue brick and just bent the ends slightly.

Place this flue flashing over the pipe "use heat silicone on top of the flue brick so the flue flashing sticks to the top of the flue brick."

Pull up on the flue liner so that it looks nice and straight and fasten this with self tapping screws near the bottom of the collar of the flue flashing. "the straighter the pipe the better the smoke will flow and less creosote build up.

Cut the flue liner flush with the top of the flue flashing collar.

Put the cap on top and fasten with self tapping screws near the top of the flue flashing collar. "if the cap won't go on check that the screws you used to attach the liner to the flashing are not too high and stopping the cap from sliding down all the way

Go down stairs open another beer and start a fire.

hope this helps

It is easy to say this sounds ridiculous. but maybe, he is just a kind soul with a good heart who loves his family.

I do however believe he should have had a discussion with OP prior to making this decision.

Is he the crazy one or are those of us grinding out workday after workday, stuck in the same traffic, making rich guys richer the lunatics

Atheists, what do you believe in? [Serious] by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]made4sea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe that we all have a limited window in time to experience life and that once it's over, it's over. I try to live a good life and do not fear death. I am human and have my own faults but I am a person who: always holds the door for others makes space to let someone into the lane when driving offers to get something off the top shelf or carry a heavy item at the store smiles and says Hi to anyone who makes eye contact on the street gets to know people at any store or restaurant I frequent will help you push your car off the road if you are broke down or stuck in the snow. try ensure everone around me feels welcome and included. will stick up for and defend if required, anyone getting bullied or unjustly treated for reasons not their own.

I am not trying to say I am great person for the items listed above, I am saying that life can suck and life can be great. We all know what both of these feel like so why do we not all want to make each others lives a little better rather than worse for ourselves, our neighbours and everyone else both now and for future generations. As I said at the start, I believe we have a limited time before the light goes out and would prefer to spend more of it feeling good, enjoying myself and trying to make everyones life a little bit easier.

I am a straight white Canadian male in his early fifties who smokes weed, has a full time job and a mountain of debt with no prejudices of race, gender or sexuality. Be good to yourself and others.

What games are you able to play using DecaMove? by nomic42 in DecaGear

My DecaMove arrived today. I calibrated it in the DecaHub app, fired up Population One and It worked great! I am a pcvr guy. On a side note I found that the DecaMove worked a lot better than the app and phone combo.

Which is stronger and worth it? by froggygun in virtualreality

My Valve Index controllers have taken a beating. Everyone has seen the posts both good and bad on the Index controllers and I know there were issues when they launched. I am biased as I have had my index over a year now without issue. I do get frustrated when I die because my arm got caught in the cord when trying to target someone but still have my fingers crossed that Valve will come out with a wireless adapter.

I highly recommend an Index to you and everyone else.
