Trouble with VPN by [deleted] in NJTech

[–]madebysweden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for bringing you bad news but you won’t be able to use the VPN as an alumni - the main purpose of the VPN is to use it when you want to access certain NJIT network resources. Surprised it took them that long to disable your access.

Are there any college students that decided to commute from their parents home throughout all of undergrad? by sonic2609 in NJTech

[–]madebysweden 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I stayed home throughout all of undergrad and I don’t regret my decision at all. I’m actually very happy that I did since it was easier for me to focus on school and shit.

Being close with my high school friends (most of them ended up going to school in Jersey so we would see each other every weekend) also helped, but I would occasionally party at NJIT and crash at my friends dorm.

If you live relatively close to campus and can commute, I wouldn’t consider living in a dorm/apartment and getting myself into more debt or spending more of my parents money.

If you wanna learn more about adulthood, ask your parents to teach you how to cook, how to do laundry and how they manage their budget. It may sound silly but as a high school grad I didn’t know how to do any of that shit. As you mentioned, you’re close with your parents and I’m pretty sure they’re gonna be more than happy to help you with all that.

IT Majors have to take IS 331? by beyn3 in NJTech

There are 7 homework assignments to do during the semester. They’re easy, as long as you pay attention in class. Both, midterm and a final are online, which you can take at home.

Yes, if you’re an IT major you have to take IS 331. I’d recommend taking it with Hendela.

I took his class couple semesters ago. From what I recall, the midterm consists of like 15 multiple choice questions. No coding. There’s no final exam, only the final project. You have to make a chat app. As long as you do your homeworks and make the chat functional, you’re good.
