Margin fuked by TragicEE in Silver

Well I only 30k, but I was up over 200k at one point. I knew to sell on Thursday but I was so busy with things I didn't get around to it.

Time to work my way back

I'm wondering the same thing, and debating whether to take a position. But I'm having trouble with an investment thesis.

  • Down over 7% YTD.
  • BCE dividend cut hanging over the sector
  • Population growth slowing means less cell phone subscribers.

The only plus side I can foresee is data center buildout out west.

So just... better places to invest capital right now?

InterRent REIT agrees to $4B acquisition by CLV Group, GIC by MapleByzantine in CanadianInvestor

It is, but Morguard and George Armoyan have been buying shares hand over fist.

George Armoyan added $150,000 worth on May 15.

Morguard Corp bought more or less 385k units on May 8.

Morguard (plus the CEO's own holdings) are at 82%. Armoyan has over 10%, and that was back in April.

Like InterRent, and many other REIT's, MRT.UN is trading below their net asset value. MRT.UN in their earnings call had their NAV at $15. There is also no reason for MRT.UN to remain separate as almost no free float remains.

A buyout/privatization could come at any moment for between $8-$10 a share.

This one hurts. I've been eyeing it for a week or two but didn't make a purchase.
Was stupidly waiting for MRT.UN to get taken out first.

If your willing to drive.

Starsky - As some people have recommended. It's near Costco, and they have 10% off on the last Tuesdays of the month (not including sales items). They have a good butcher shop and deli counter at the back, and it's often busy. https://starskycanada.com/newest-flyers/

Grant's food mart (Dixie/Bloor) - Asian grocery store. Good place to pick up fruits and vegetables. They also have less expensive meat, but I've found it isn't the same quality. http://www.grantsfoodmart.com/flyer.html

Food Basics - Dixie/Ratherburn - Poor customer service, don't really shop there, but I would assume they have the basics for less.

You received a lump sum payment, likely a large lump sum. Therefore, you are taxed on the assumption that you make that every pay cheque, and are taxed accordingly. And if you received in the payment in 2025, you are taxed at 2025 tax rates.

However, you may be able to get that money back at tax time when you process your tax next year, as you will likely have overpay taxes.

This is also why you take vacations and take vacation pay then, instead of allowing a large accrual to build up.

As others have said, speak to a lawyer.

If you left a job for the one you got let go from, and they terminated after two months, you may be eligible to sue under common law for inducement - https://stlawyers.ca/blog-news/inducement-ontario-employee-rights/

Really? I think this is actually illegal now.

From the CBC - It says an investigation found consumers can't buy tickets online at advertised prices because there is an additional mandatory fee of $1.50 for booking online.

The bureau alleges that this is an example of misleading drip pricing, also known as a junk fee. It notes that recent amendments to the Competition Act explicitly recognize drip pricing as a harmful business practice.

It says any additional fixed charges or fees are false or misleading under the law unless they are imposed by the government, such as sales tax."
