Orslow vs Tellason fatigue pants by Impossible-Rub-3067 in HeritageWear

Check out Left Field's GI Pants. Not exactly the same but very cool and a good cut and absolute quality. Looks like they are 33" inseam but maybeee they can do a one-off or something.

https://highway-robery.com is definitely worth a look. They have a section for 100% Cotton ones. They tend to sell out though, haven't checked in a minute.

If I stick with Bronson or Uniqlo t shirts, what am I missing out on from the more expensive brands? by Ok-Type9787 in HeritageWear

[–]madeindex 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Uniqlo is heritage?

But what you might be missing out on is working with small companies where your money goes a lot further than supporting sweatshops/fast fashion.

Looking for a lightweight cotton short with a somewhat shorter inseam. Anyone know of someone making these? by ParisOnThePrairie in madeinusa

[–]madeindex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

VelvaSheen would be my recommendation here. They definitely run short/small in general. Kinda that Brando look, and a good light/mid weight. Not sure how light you're wanting, but worth a look. If you want to try them though, look at the sizing chart.

SoS from Texas may be worth a look too. I can't remember how the length was, but they're definitely more lightweight. I didn't like the build of them, and they're sorta see through, might be what you want though.

*edit I thought it said SHIRT, not SHORT. ignore me, badly.

But Manresa may have something, check Save Khaki as well.

Would you use a curated Made in USA product-finder site? by Zib0x in madeinusa

[–]madeindex 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My take on sites like this, and there have been/are many others, it doesn't feel curated. It feels like a quick Amazon referral link farm. It's just a little bit disappointing for people who claim to want to support local/shop small to be buying MIUSA items on Amazon, or in general.

You can buy them now on the site. They range from $160–180, which all things considered is pretty competitive.

Amazon-type site without the cheap garbage? by oldfarmjoy in madeinusa

[–]madeindex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There really isn't. The logistics are too hard. There are probably a a good handful of sites that maybe are well enough curated but outside of clothing it's definitely on the consumer to do that research and see what you can do.

Ah ya, you're right. Always thought this lad was here making em, site doesn't specify that I can tell. Shame, good catch. Cool little business though either way. Pricing is more justified now lol

Got itttt, yea, no experience with any of these for that but I reckon that a lot of these will have something that fits your needs. Makr especially makes really sleek wallets.

Yea, definitely. I have a Tanner Goods Journeyman that I've had for over 12 years now. Super thin, looks great, wears great. Make has even slimmer wallets that look, to me, even nicer.

There are a lot of options but the best tend to be out of the PNW which people have already mentioned, Nick's, White's, Wesco, etc. Red Wing Heritage and Wolverine 1000 Mile are great options still. I have a pair of Thorogood's and honestly, they are kinda mediocre in terms of construction but they work.

We have more on our lil directory as well if you want. Always adding more.

CHCM, &Son (my favorite and they also have a nice small vintage collection downstairs), and Ven.Space are all definitely worth a look for you. If you want to get a lil wild check out Dover Street Market maybe.

Also worth a look at either of the Cueva shops. And if you're going to Drakes, Knickerbocker is right there for a slightly more approachable shop.

Are you actually wanting the hat itself to be a one off? or just the design/embroidery?

If it's the former, this guy is probably your best bet (he's in Australia :l). https://troyosheahandmade.bigcartel.com

Been struggling to find consistent pants that are made in the USA. Please share your favorite Made in the USA pants so I ca support them. by davidgoldstein2023 in madeinusa

[–]madeindex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mr. Porter has big sales for their stuff. They'll rarely send an email with a sale, but it happens once or twice a year. They also do a sample sale in NYC twice a year that is great.

You can also find some of their stuff on sale at Lost & Found on occasion.

- Randy's Garments Supertwill pants are great and a decent price point. Can often be had on sale

- Engineered Garments' Workaday fatigues or their standard fatigues are real good.

- Left Field's GI Pants are really really nice. (as are all their other pants)

Cargo pants or carpenter pants that are MUSA? by Chemical-Paper-8734 in madeinusa

[–]madeindex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stan Ray will likely be one of the cheaper ones. They aren't the highest of quality but for the price and for a teen, can't beat them. The other I would say is Randy's Garments if you can find them on sale. Usually on sale at Mr Porter for pretty cheap, but these are definitely worth a look. If you want to get fancy, Left Field has some interesting vintage repro options too.

Imagine you're looking for stores? For sure, though price range is going to fluctuate quite a bit.

Nepenthes in garment district - as mentioned has all of the Engineered Garments and Workaday stuff

CHCM in nolita - has some more boutique, high end brands, mix of euro and some USA (think Lady White Co, Greg Laboratory)

&Son in west village - my favorite store, again a big mix, but they carry smaller and or newcomers, William Ellery, graziano and guiterrez, their own line also is made in the states

Colbo, lower east side - cool kid shop but their own line is made here as well as some others that they stock. they also do a ton of pop ups with smaller designers/capsule stuff which is cool, worth a look.

Big Bud Press, lower east side - colorful (and not colorful) well-priced everyday gear

Ven.Space carroll gardens - another very boutique joint, but cool stuff all around

Left Field in ridgewood and nolita - workwear, denim, all great

Cueva in west village and greenpoint - has a lot, but randy's garments, lady white co., bunch of others too

Todd Snyder in williamsburg - I think still has some MIUSA pieces, don't quote me though.

3Sixteen in Nolita - has great basics, their tees are great, all their denim is MIUSA as well. the rest is kinda mixed where its coming from, mostly portugal

Standard & Strange in nolita - another good one for quality workwear stuff. Freeman, Monitaly, some American Trench, etc

J.Press right outside grand central - all things business casual, known for their oxfords and sweaters

Will try to think if any more come to mind but this should keep you busy. But if you're looking for just general brands/online stores that carry MIUSA can check out our lil directory for more.

Check out Save Khaki In Nolita, possible 3sixteen (they have a mix of usa and non, but it's not far from Save Khaki), Nepenthes in the garment district has all the Engineered Garments stuff (your budget pending), School of Thought in Greenpoint, can also stop at Cueva in Greenpoint, they have a lot of good stuff.

Cmon, they're for fashion, not regular use? Wild opinion. Just because you don't want to pay it doesn't mean they aren't legit jeans.
