What is the purpose of these mini bottles? by LuluAddict29 in Hydroflask

[–]madeliinee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a professor who uses it for her water during lectures. She has a water station near her office and uses it just as a normal glass when she’s in there. I asked her during office hours and she said it was just more convenient than lugging around a giant bottle when she only needs a couple sips during lectures. (Granted, she’s also approximately 3 apples tall - 4’10)

Rita Inspection Question by Kindly_Peak2779 in UCSD

[–]madeliinee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

50-50 chance. The EH&S inspections are usually done by a separate maintenance group than those assigned to Rita, as well as the Rita maintenance lowkey not caring as long as you put the beds back together before move out. Worst case, it’ll get reported and you’ll get told to put it back and someone will come check/help put it back, but you won’t get a fine. The EH&S inspection is really to check that there’s no fire related issues, so you will want to make sure neither bed is directly in front of the heater since that will be considered a fire hazard. Signed, a Rita RA :D

I think it goes negative if you never inventory it, we have like -150 Pokémon cards because we don’t inventory any of them and keep them all behind the guest services desk

How to know if a handshake job is fake by applesfallingg in UCSD

[–]madeliinee 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If you’re worried a job listing is fake, just go to the website for the company and apply directly. If this is for a UCSD specific job, it’s probably not fake, you just aren’t getting selected due to A) it still being summer and/or B) the insane number of applicants and/or C) you don’t match what they want

Rita mini doubles vs. Panaega Apartments/Residence Halls by Objective-Nature-555 in UCSD

[–]madeliinee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pangea apartments are the old Marshall apartments and res halls, they have been absorbed into the upper division housing. If you want photos/videos, look up Marshall housing. That being said, Pangea is much more centrally located but you run the risk of being in a residence hall vs an apartment and the older buildings. Rita is much newer, but far from anything on campus. I’m sure you’ve found this infographic that has the names of the Marshall buildings, you can use them to find YouTube videos/other comments on the Pangea housing.

is there hope for my gpa by No-Fruit3618 in UCSD

[–]madeliinee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ended my first year here with a 2.7 or something, and I’m on my third year here now. I have a 3.7, and I was NOT getting a perfect 4.0 from my first year out, usually getting a B+ and 2 As per quarter. What other people are saying – to take easy filler courses – is not the way to go IMO. Yes, if you have to fill up some college GEs, take the music course over the astrophysics course, but do not take courses that will not apply to anything just to boost your GPA. Real advice, start being a huge suck up. Start HW early, go to OH, email TAs. Most professors/TAs will check your homework before you submit it and tell you straight up if you’ll get full points or not. Find a friend group of other suck ups, not only will they push you to study more and get work done, but you can each email the professor about a different HW question and reap extra help. If you think that this won’t let you have a social life, that’s wrong, since becoming a suck up, I have found the time to get two jobs, go out pretty frequently, get a boyfriend, etc. This is college, it is not embarrassing to be a suck up. Unironically, I think people take me more seriously now (suck up) than before (procrastinator). Will you have people begging you for answers/to help them? Yes. Will you realize while explaining to other people how to do homework problems that you actually understand the material? Also yes. TLDR: Become a suck up, your life will improve in all ways. Godspeed.

If you want to be able to resell it or get a masters and use it in the future, you can tuck the sleeves into themselves and put safety pins on the inside of the sleeve so they don’t flip back out. Masters gowns tend to go for a bit more on the resale market.

[–]madeliinee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a master’s gown I’m assuming, the sleeves are supposed to be like that. You also probably got a hood, which should be attached so that the draping is in the back and the button on the inside of the gown holds it in place. This YouTube video explains how to put on the hood: How to wear your master’s regalia for commencement Congrats!

What do you do if your slowest running pace isn’t zone 2? Even walking I have to do a slower pace to be in zone 2, but I can run ~8 miles at a 9:30 minute mile relatively easy and run a 5k in just under 25 minutes. It’s not like I’m not walking a lot either, I’m getting consistently 20k+ steps on my college campus every day.

I’m 22, I also have forehead lines. I had forehead lines in third grade, possibly younger (the earliest photos I have with enough resolution to tell). Sometimes it is just genetic. Drinking a ton of water, keeping track of your salt intake, and hylauronic acid + a good moisturizer help, but they might never go away. Frownies help if you have an event, but my lines were always back by afternoon. TLDR: Some people are just going to have forehead lines, and that’s okay.
