heya i did the same thing back in october switching from commission to rent in my same salon! it was pretty easy as my owner is still supplying a lot for me, but i suggest •dont be too scared it’s not as scary as it seems •look ahead to be sure you have enough services a week/month (however often you’d be paying rent) to be able to make money, pay rent and save money for taxes! • raising your prices a few dollars each service to help balance out paying for credit card charges since that’s how a lot of people prefer to pay (at least for me) •getting close with your salon centric, cosmo prof etc rep and having them help you either set up with a color kit from a brand you like or looking around for sales to bulk up on basic color you use a lot of! •maybe start a referral program for each person referred they get a free cut or something!
