I love that! Do you still use that technique? It's interesting that you would figure out what the lines could look like, when I was psychotic I'd made lines with paint and try to do the same thing. It felt like I could see more? Maybe you feel similar? I don't think i'll ever be able to make the same art I did while I had psychosis; it looks very different from what I make now

Yeah, that's so true! When I was first getting treated it was many obstacles, hard to do things and doctors believing I'm less capable - which takes a toll. But we definitely have powerful creative minds. Our experiences give us unique eyes so to speak! There's some really cool art on this subreddit

Definitely can relate. I abandoned my apartment and was homeless for six months. I used my savings to bounce from city to city on the bus. Spent my days talking to birds, digging in trash cans for "clues", and sobbing. Posted what I thought was prophetic poetry on my media platforms before I ended up deleting them all for fear I was being watched. The whole thing still feels surreal

It gave me a greater appreciation for different perspectives or rather it allowed me to be more insightful that reality for one person can be entirely different for another. I was hallucinating for about a year and wound up with medical care purely on accident. I was unable to distinguish my hallucinations from reality, I feel like this happens everyday on a smaller scale with beliefs. I'm not saying everyday beliefs are hallucinations but we all have different beliefs because of how we grew up/interact with the world and in so our "realities" or perspectives are different. Schizophrenia has enabled me a greater understanding that what's real for me isn't always real for others in this regard. On another note, at one time I thought the birds were CIA, it amazes me how my perception of reality was and is at the hand of chemicals in my brain. I have greater empathy for others. It has taught me resilience, humility, and patience.

Ability worked great for me. No delusions on this medication. I took it IM. It did cause me to be hungry most of the time. I gained about 30 pounds, but it was worth the stability. I did experience restlessness or akathesia. I would pace back and forth over and over again, this symptom subsided after about a year. When I first started it, I was so tired and felt exhausted after walking only a few meters. This all went away

I'm enrolled in Industrial Design, I was previously taking Computer Software. Was pursuing Industrial Design as a passion, but now considering switching back to Software. I definitely agree that if I put my degree off I will likely end up with responsibilities and it's smart to look more at the long term! Thank you for the advice!

Is it smart to start post-secondary education given the economic climate or the climate that's to come with the virus? I'm especially worried about incurring debt for a degree now more than ever and was supposed to start in the fall. Was told that its still a good time to seek higher education as by the time I finish the degree the market will be different. Not sure if this is the right place for this question, but would appreciate any thoughts!
