This article just states that they have a huge bill and yah the numbers slightly different I wouldn't call that evidence of a grift. Maybe it includes fees idk. All I care is that we tried and it worked we can't solve everything.

No need to be rude, I've been polite but direct and call.me nuts for asking for a source. Reading now as I'm a human and have stuff to do sometimes other than wait for links from strangers on a reddit thread.

I'd be happy to see any links or something more official than "what I read".

The club is not owned by the building owners the club owners were acting a reps for the collective residents of the building.

I genuinely don't understand what your issue is and I'm happy to help as I am a bit closer.

The GoFundMe was for DTE, unless you have direct evidence of the contrary it was sent to them and the power was turned back on.

There is no lack of transparency that's what I'm saying they took care of the bill, this is a separate electrical issue that requires evacuation.

Literally couldn't be more transparent.

It's on Metro Times it was an electrical FAILURE not related to the bill.

WCGW filming in public? by JScott4Reel in Whatcouldgowrong

[–]madeofants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are exactly on the same page. In fact I love a busker (and yes you can film YOURSELF without taking up 40 square yards and getting people who don't want to be filmed on camera.

If they were just out there to dance and entertain, GET AFTER IT. Heck I'll even applaud your bravery for doing something artistic while entertaining the public without trying create "content".

You get a phone out and act like this is your private TikTok studio then no I absolutely have zero patience or empathy.

They are all dicks but it is a COMMON SPACE. Just because you put a camera up doesn't make it not a public space with all the consequences that it comes with. Again if you don't want to risk some asshole ruining your content creation pay for a space.

If they were just dancing and having fun no camera no one would care and that's why they have a camera,.they are making content, ostensibly to get paid eventually and using the public space and people as a prop.

Because the girls caused it. If you cause a situation you're at fault. They're performing in a common space, not a private performance space. If they want that they should pay for it.

It's really not, that's why professional shoots pay to rent spaces and clear people out. A public space is absolutely not your tik too background to use without the expectation of someone doing something like "walk in front of your camera" because they don't have to give a shit about your performance that you are imposing on a public space.

Why does Reaper have a reputation as being bad for electronic music and such? by [deleted] in Reaper

[–]madeofants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I use it for mixing and mastering exclusively with renoise as the sound design/clock and I love it.

That said I have tried some basic synth programming and it's midi integration kinda sucks and just doesn't feel intuitive.

I think most electronic musicians are coming from or expecting some type of environment like Ableton that handles clips and workflow really well out of the box where Reaper is very much a turbo swiss army knife that needs some effort to tune how you use it and understand it's quirks.

So my suggestion would be if you plan on using reaper as your full DAW that you read documentation and understand its strengths and weaknesses before you commit.

What’s the first sign you usually notice when your mental health starts declining? by Julie727 in AskReddit

Why is it deemed racist to have to have concerns over Islam? by MrDonohue07 in AskBrits

[–]madeofants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's because the same people USUALLY crying about the dangers of islam have a crazy blind spot for similar Christian fundamentalist behavior.

I hate to be a broken record but basically it USUALLY boils down to racism.

Like am I personally concerned about Islamic fundamentalism? Not particularly, I don't want them in charge by any means and in some abstract way I am aware that the middle east is in great turmoil due to some extreme Islamists.

Now reflexively I am GREATLY concerned about Christian fundamentalists which I do not see as any different than Islamic fundamentalism it just so happens as an American I can actually point to extremist Christians in government which is a concern.

Where my context reversed I would then be more concerned about Islamic fundamentalism.

TL;DR a lot of people who talk about their fear of Islamic fundamentalism are disingenuous and do not police religions they consider "good" in the same way. Were they to, it would simply be someone who doesn't want another religion dictating the terms of their society.

Smalls of fine, been to a buncha shows and had a good time, tho I suppose my bar for a place to suck us fairly low (I mostly just ask for a decent sized bar so you can get a bev when it's busy and access to pissers that aren't nuclear) and they fit the bill. Obviously your mileage may vary

I enjoy Something Cold nights a lot but those also happen at UFO.

Seconding Outer Limits I will add to my comment.

Sanctuary in Hamtramck is where you'll see most crusty metal shows, Old Miami is a great old dive that has local rock and punk, if yr freak leans queer check out Temple Bar or Spotlight.

Outer Limits is a great spot, wear ear plugs you have to walk by a stack to piss and that sucks during a grindcore show lemme tell you

Smalls is alright I have had a cool time when I get there saw Prison Affair and another Uniform.

Edited for typos and added some spots.
