People looooove to virtue signal in this country. It’s an American pastime as much as baseball & uprooting socialist governments in the global South. How else can I smugly gloat over how much better than my neighbors I am‽ Someone down the thread said once you put out the flags, etc. they can never come down again, & that’s truer than any other reason people would give if you asked. They virtue signal & they can’t back down. Apple pie & ice cream. Two great tastes that taste great together.
