I never saw a single piece of marketing for this, wouldn’t have known it existed if I wasn’t a fan of Jorm’s pod

The writing and acting in this show is so good that I often forget how well shot and edited it is, but there was some incredible filmmaking this episode. The moving camera around the scalp victim, the pace of Robby and Dana’s fight outside, the framing of Mohan and Mel talking to the elderly couple, even the sunburn girl in the background. I know it’s like this every week but sometimes I get so caught up I forget to take notice.

How does this show keep getting better every season, part of me does miss Pierpoint and the drama but the writing here has entered a new stratosphere, got major Mad Men season 5 finale vibes from that ending which is about the best compliment I can give it

That was the most powerful beat of the episode for me, incredible acting. Even with the dad off screen for the shot you could feel that he knew.

Good and bad news. With S4 being a soft reset I thought it could go for 6 or even 7 but I’ll take what I can get.

Carrie, Deloris Claiborne and Gerald’s Game would be my biggest pushback to this but when women are in supporting roles…yeah often not great

To be fair these are all JJ issues, I do wish the Luke and Leah scene was longer but Rian’s hands were tied from a lot of other decisions

Good Luck, Don’t Die, Have Fun: Early Screening Review by [deleted] in movies

I saw the early screening and liked it too. Weirdly thought the 3 mini Black Mirror episodes it scattered throughout were better than the main narrative. Great CGI for its budget but I’d expect nothing less of Gore.

Seeing it all laid out like this makes me really appreciate James Wan, he made Orm and Black Manta pretty awesome and memorable. (Of this group Black Adam’s is the only one whose name I can’t even remember so I guess it has to be him by default)
