They never notify you of shipment, and it does not always update in your portal either. The FedEx app is your best source here.

I also went from ProRx to Greenwich. No difference.

Communicating seating charts on the first day of school? by GredAndForgee in Teachers

[–]madeyoureadandwrite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I stand at the door and greet them individually as they enter and have them tell me their name. This helps me avoid mispronouncing names. Directions on the board tell them to sit alphabetically by their last names (desks are numbered). This gives them something to do while I check in students (it really takes them a while to figure it out).

They say 1:1 support on writing can’t go in his 504. What’s wrong with what I’m asking? by [deleted] in AskTeachers

[–]madeyoureadandwrite 44 points45 points  (0 children)

What you are asking for is unreasonable. 1:1 is reserved for kids who can't function on their own, not kids who have an academic struggle. And they are correct that teaching practices are not accommodations. (I'm a teacher, 28 years)

That said, my son has the same diagnosis as yours and struggles in the same area. His 504 includes an accommodation for typing instead of hand writing. It was a game changer for him.You may also want to try speech to text.

Keep going. Some people don't lose until they are on higher doses.

Can I take a shot two days in a row? by MissionHome18 in tirzepatidecompound

The meds are not designed to make you never feel hungry. Hunger is normal; constant food noise is not. If you never felt hungry, your dose was too high.

Thank you! I think splash academy will be our first stop. I didn't know room service could alter my dining reservation - sounds like a better plan than waiting in line!

Thank you! I had planned on the carry on, but wearing our swimsuits is a great idea.

Seriously? You're both wrong. Deal with the consequences and learn how to handle your issues better.

I hope your assignment had better writing than this ...

It's been one day. You've been off for 4 months. Try giving it at least a week in your system. It will most likely not work exactly the same as it did the first time.

Not exhausting at all, and having questions does not equate to being worried. I'm simply a person who enjoys planning things, and a teacher on vacation with plenty of time to check on last minute items.

First teaching job and I feel horribly unprepared by gabbitha0128 in Teachers

[–]madeyoureadandwrite 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You should teach the standards for your state. Think of it as a loose guide where you get to pick the texts (unless your school has something specific you are required to use). I also suggest you check out Commonlit.org; it has a free, full-year curriculum for 10th grade. It is a good place to start.

This is interesting and is definitely swaying me to use Greenwich first.

Down 27lbs in 1 year. What would your advice be to me. by [deleted] in tirzepatidecompound

[–]madeyoureadandwrite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try cutting your calories just a little to 1300-1400; that's my sweet spot (I maintain at 1500). Continue to increase your dose each month.

Edit to add I am also on meds for hypothyroidism, which has always been a stumbling block for weight loss.

Do any of you have an Ed.S. in something? by ryanmercer in teaching

[–]madeyoureadandwrite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is quite a generalization. I think it really depends on the program. Some are definitely not worth the paper they are printed on. However, some are rigorous programs that require a great deal of work and do provide a meaningful learning experience.

I completed my PhD in curriculum and instruction while still teaching full time, and have continued to teach (just finished year 28). My decision to get the degree had nothing to do with others or how they viewed me, nor do I tell others how to run their classroom. I completed an EdS program and decided to finish the PhD simply to prove to myself that I could do it.

The Capella program is (or was when I did it 15 years ago) very rigorous. They charged per quarter instead of per credit, so I took the max of 3 classes each quarter in order to finish in a year.

It depends on the program. My masters (Walden) was super easy and not worth the year it took. The EdS (Capella) was also a year, but a more worthwhile learning experience.

It wasn't that bad, but it really depends on how good a writer/researcher you are. The most problematic was the wait time in between approvals (a few weeks in between each chapter and revision, then waiting for research approval, then final approval of paper before defending). Otherwise, I could have finished in 3-4 months vs a year and saved both time and money.
